My best friend Lindsay likes this guy Justin(aka. my boyfriend). She talks about him all the time. Me and Justin have decided not to tell everyone about us dating. One hes at college now again and I am a senior in High School. Two we are just keeping it low cuz its a small town and things spread like wildfire in small towns. I really would like to tell my best friend that i am dating him but i fear she will not only be angry but she will also spread it around. The thing is i just got out of a relationship with Justins friend. It ended badly and i had kinda had my eye on my now bf for awhile. Some of my friends would be angry that i moved on so fast. So do i tell her now or wait to see if things in this relationship work out? I like to be honest but not if its going to hurt someone.

Ok it was a mutual decision to keep it quiet. We have been together for about a month now. My best friend has liked him for so long and he turned her down many times. He isnt really a girlfriend kind of guy but i guess things just work out nice between us.

Who's idea it is to keep this relationship a secret? I'd bet his. If you truly like one another there is no reason to hide it from anyone. I would be willing to bet you are not his only "secret girlfriend."

I think that it is ur business if u want to disclosed this information. U r by no means obligated to spread ur business. If u 2 feel it necessary not to tell any1 thats ya's decision. And if ur friend would spread ur business maybe she is not a true friend. Remeber sweetie u r the only 1 who can live u r life and no 1 has the right to judge u for any decision or action u make. If you can't tell your best friend who you're dating then you might want to reevaluate your friendship. She'll be hurt a whole lot more if she finds out on her own or if she finds out a lot later. She'll feel betrayed if you keep something from her for a while. She'll also feel betrayed to find out that you're dating someone that she has an interest in. I would tell her before things went on too long. She may be angry for a bit, but if she's really your friend then you guys will be able to work past this in time.
Also, if you have to keep a relationship a secret, then it might not be a relationship worth keeping.

i think you should wait to c what might happen with u and Justin because u might be excited about u and Justin then things won't work out. Also i think u should wait before u tell your friend because she might b your friend but being that she like your boyfriend she might spread awful rumor's about u so you and Justin could break up so she can move on in on Justin so wait it out i like to be honest to but if honest take getting awful rumors spread about u or getting your feelings hurt by the one u thought u loved it's not worth it

You need to be honest and straight forward all the time to be safe. If you don't tell your friend then she could go on liking him for ages or even make moves on yout boyfriend. Tell her how long you've been dating, you were keeping it quiet and you're sorry. Don't let it drag on or when it does come out, it will look like you are going behind her back.

Well if ur best friend Lindsay is truly your friend then it shouldnt matter. But like the saying goes bros before hoes except its sis before somethin. any way i'd tell her and if she ends up telling everyone then just lie and say she's makin it up I kno bad answer im just thinkin off the top of my head what i'd do. If Lindsay is a true friend then she will be OK with you going out with Justin. I think that you need to tell her and get it off your chest. I'm sure that she'll understand if you explain it to her. And heck, if you can't tell a best-friend then who can you tell.

if hes worth it, why worry what others think?? If you want a trial run with him, keep it quiet for another week and see if something big is going to happen, then let them all know. Sounds like you guys are ashamed of yourselves.

What about concentrating on school instead....
As you experienced, boyfriends are temporary. Boyfriends are unimportant. Anyway, all they want to do is sleep with you. They are not interested in YOU.
Be serious in school, get love and attention from your mom and dad.
Do sports.

Shes not a friend if she gets mad at you and starts spreading the word. Thats just childish. Dont be ashamed of you boyfriend if you really like him nothing else matters, dont worry about wat people think its your life not theirs. You got to learn to not care wat people think. Its your life and they dont have a right to get between you and your boyfriend. Just tell your friends and if they dont like the idea its their problem, they should be happy for you and understand you.
