Heather_Smith,
You would be on his side. The presumption, I think, is to believe that one side or the other has things right. I'd say that Jesus has all that figured out and will not hesitate to expose the wrong being done in both parties. And then to know that He will rule here on Earth, He wont be like Republicans and Democrats, He will be God.
So Jesus isn't on anyones side, people will be on His side.

Think about that, he taught the hypocrites, gave 'em a bad time at it, too, and he bless the Roman who came to him for help. There is an old quote from Lincoln which goes something like this, it is not a matter who side Jesus in on, it matters who is on Jesus side. I think that fits what you are saying.

Jesus wouldn't take sides with either political party. In fact, He'd annoy both of them. I'm starting a new site that I hope will get people to grasp that fact. Check out the first link below. :-)

It's amazing to watch how political parties and nations use religon to manipulate people. They polarize those who believe in the same god and the morons fall for it.
Jesus might join the Green Party

Though I affiliate myself with neither of the major parties, I'd have to call Jesus a total liberal. Feed the hungry, cure the sick, and stick it to The Man.

Some would say he was a liberal, as he threw the moneychangers out of the temple, turned water in wine and fed the hungry and homeless.

Thank you. Someone needed to say it. :)
Despite their flaws, I think both parties bring something to the table (the Republicans generally value "adhering to standards" while Democrats generally value "caring for people" -- both important ideas in Christianity), and I get really tired of people seemingly being judged for what political party they feel they should be part of.
It's a real lack of love for people to create enemies of those who are working towards the same general goals... and even if one disagrees, Jesus said to "love one's enemies" -- which means respecting their personhood and treating them as someone created in God's image, rather than as scum or unworthy to associate with and/or relate to.
