Check out flights on Expedia. As an example, I entered in a search from Seattle to London for September 12, with a return flight back to the U.S. on September 26. The total for the cheapest roundtrip flight was $744.

The flights from Seattle to London in season can be expensive. A roundtrip can cost around $1,500. However, by booking ahead and tarveling offseason, the cost can be brought down. He can also look for specials that nearly all airlines make available on the web.

I just looked on Orbitz.com
Air India gets him there on Sept. 12 for $482.
American Airlines does it for $934.
US Airways is $914.
And British Airways is $860.
All flights arrive at Heathrow with a change in either New York or Chicago.
For example...
--------------------------------------------------
Select $378 + $104 taxes & fees = $482 per person
Leave
Tue, Sep 12 American Airlines 268
Depart: 9:20am Seattle, WA (SEA)
Arrive: 5:35pm New York, NY (JFK)
1 stop Economy 5hr 15min Boeing 757 View seats
Change Airline. Time between flights: 2hr 35min
Air-India 112
Depart: 8:10pm New York, NY (JFK)
Arrive: 7:55am London, United Kingdom (LHR)
Economy 6hr 45min Boeing 747
Total duration: 14hr 35min
This is an overnight flight.
----------------------------------------------------
Your "friend" needs to tell her "hubby" to book one of these flights and be in London at the scheduled arrival time. No chance, otherwise, he can keep his girlfriend in Seattle and divorce papers are being filed the next day.

On Travelocity.com he can fly from Seattle to London on the 12th September for only $753. I looked for an earlier date and they are very expensive, around $2000.
Can she not fly out to him?
