Suppose if you will that you have no knowledge of religion at all. No Idea who Satan is or what he stands for. No Idea who God is or what he stands for. Now God and satan must try to win your fellowship. Satan tells you all about free love and sex ...plenty of food and no work to do . etc etc. God tells you all about sacrifice and starvation...famine and war. frustrated sexual tension...etc etc.
who do you think you would vote for..........

as i thought most of you missed the point of the question..... you dont know God or satan or what they have promised. and if you were all truthful you would all choose satan. you wouldn't have any clue about the fires of hell....rather like the ancient Pagans really..

It would not be possible for anyone to be ignorant of God. The two sides of the coin you have just mentioned are one and the same, ALL poverty, degradation, starvation etc etc has been brought about by MAN and Satan and his followers both demonic and human have been the chief instigators. These followers include: ALL churches, ALL world governments and the average man in the street, IE, rapists, murders, adulterers. God swept the earth clean ONCE before but man has done it again. God would NEVER present you with an option like that. I suggest you read the Bible to find out whats coming very shortly for mankind. He IS giving you a choice, you either die at Armageddon along with the rest of the wicked OR you get to live on after it, in a peaceful and abundant earth..

What some of you are over looking is that you wouldn't know of God or Satan!

Or religion...

So by the advertising campaigns of the two I would probably pick Satan.

No one wants to starve.... or miss out on the other stuff! ^*^

But as I am a Wiccan, there isn't a Satan any way.

Everyone would vote for the easier life of course. But now think about what you know, take the easy road now and suffer forever in hell. Or take the hard way and live in all peace and happiness for all eternity. What seems like the best choice. And of course Satan has to make his way of life look appealing because he has nothing more to offer.

Satan

In ancient Jewish tradition Satan is simply an angel doing the work that God assigned to Satan to do.

The word Satan means challenger. With the idea of Satan challenging us, or tempting if you will. This description sees Satan as the angel who is the embodiment of man's challenges. This idea of Satan works closely with God as an integral part of God plan for us. His job is to make choosing good over evil enough of a challenge so that it becomes clear to us that there can be only one meaningful or logical choice.

Contrast this to Christianity, which sees Satan as God's opponent. In Jewish thought, the idea that there exists anything capable of setting itself up as God's opponent would be considered polytheistic or setting up the devil to be an equally powerful polarity to god or a demigod.

Oddly, proof for The Christian satan/devil mythology is supposedly found in the ancient Jewish texts that were borrowed to create the bible. One can’t help but wonder how Christians came up with such a fantastically different interpretation of Gods assistant Satan in their theology.

Other hints about Satan’s role in human relations can be seen if you look at the name Lucifer. It meaning in the original tongue translates as Light bearer or light bringer. Essentially the bringer of enlightenment. The temptations of the Satan idea bring all of us eventually into Gods light. Hardly the Evil entity of Christian mythology.

This contest was thousands of years ago, Satan lost. Satan was cast down to earth, this earth where he now lives, his life hoping to completely destroy the people of God, using everything he can, including sex, drugs, and lies (which he is the father of).
Satan and his children are to blame for the bad things that happen here on earth. Remember if there was no Satan, there would be no evil.
We need to stop blaming Jesus for the bad things. When we the people are to blame for allowing the bad things to happen in the first place.

God and Satan. One of my favorite questions.
From your words i see Satan as an embodiment of evil but it is all not that simple the more religious literature you take into account.
Just a few hints
in Tanakh (Jewish) his a angel whom God uses to test man for various reasons.
In the Apocrypha and New Testament he is is the enemy of God and mankind
He was sometimes called Lucifer which means light-bearer
etc.
Everything but g*d is his creation and exists to execute G*d's will, so don't bother too much with that - we all serve his purpose.
(from the religious point of view)

Silly question realy. It is a no contest. You have misrepresented God who would not tell you what you've written. But Satan would lie as you've suggested. God has actually promised those who follow Him that they will drink from the well of life and will never be thirsty, He has promised Life Eternal and a full life. Sounds pretty good to me.

My life is a good example of what you just said or asked,

I was raise up in a family were the worship of gods is their real way of life,
But we came to know God in Christ Jesus,
Because He is just the best thing that can happen to anyone like us,
Then, we were told their gods can do anything both war and good
these they put in practice even now,
but unknown to them they are worshiping Satan himself,
because there gods are evil (evil in the sense that it can help to kill a good man, woman, and even brothers & sisters using their charms to kill each other)
But in all these we came to know the way, life and true
because God makes way when there since to be no way

I hope these answers your question

Moreover, I remember when I was very very young,
my ground mum used to tell me some interesting stories,
I can tell you boldly that God used those stories in telling us something, we have not seen nor known anything about,
I can even tell you that my ground mum did not know anything about what she was saying because she has not repent yet.
Thanks
If you wanna no about those stories, then send an e-mail to me including your e-mail detail

The problem with this scenario is that Satan isn't going to tell you of the eternal damnation and the punishments that would follow. And why can't God tell about the heavenly afterlife?

Personally, i would tell both that I must ponder on these offers

Old Nick [aka, Satan] and his fellow Demons are on a hiding to nothing.

On the day of Armageddon, God will put them to death and send them to Gehenna. Where they will be unable to influence anyone with there brand of governance.

Then Jehovah with His Son in the lead will begin the restoration of Paradise on Earth
