I agree with the steak ideas. How about something a wee bit different on that theme? Try this one...
Steak Pizziaola
2 med. steaks
2 green onions (sliced)
1 can sliced mushrooms (please use fresh, if possible!)
1 sm. can tomato paste
1 lg. can tomato sauce (with herbs)
1 lg. can diced tomatoes (drained)
1 tsp. dried parsley
Fresh Basil, if possible
1/8 cup fresh parmegiano cheese
1/4 cup fresh mozzarella or italian fontina cheese
cooking oil
salt & pepper to taste
In a large skillet, heated with oil, add onion and steak. Cook for 10-15 min on medium heat. Add mushrooms and salt & pepper. In a large bowl combine all tomato products. Add parsley and mix throughly. Add more salt and pepper if desired. Once steaks are halfway done, add contents of bowl.
Simmer on medium heat for 20 minutes or until tomato sauce thickens. Add half of both cheeses. Mix until cheese is melted.
Once steak and sauce are done, take steak out and serve on plate, spoon sauce over top of steak.
Top with remaining cheese. Serve with pasta side dish.
Add a slice of Bruschetta, small plate of antipasta, and wine! Happy eating

Most men love steak. Try making something along those lines; unless your husband is not a big steak person. There are a lot of recipes out there on the internet.

Pick something his mom used to make that always gets you extra points later on, I am puerto rican so Rice Beans and Pork chops in CHOPPED TOMATOE SAUCE DO THE TRICK FOR HIM. Try and look up Puerto rican recipes the first site listed or maybe the second one is the site I go to for mommy pointers.

fix his favorite meal (check out a good cookbook from the library if you don't have one or look on line for the recipe if needed) use only the best ingredients...and surprise him at the door in just your apron...or only wrapped in saran wrap in "strategic" places. works like a charm!
btw, beware of grease spatters and hot dishes!
