Those are the names of two people who face legal prosecution in their countries for converting from Islam to Christianity. The penalty under sharia law is death.

So far, I appreciate the answers. However, I am disappointed by the number of people who think it's OK to put a convert to death. If that's what you believe, don't give me the snow job that Islam is a "religion of peace."

They don't if they live in the United States unless it is murder by their own kind that have not converted. In Muslim dominated areas, Christianity is considered a threat and the way they handle anything that doesn't agree with their ideas is through murder. Their God is a God of wrath and war not a God of love. The bible foretells these things and that Christians will be persecuted.
"Blessed are they who die for my name's sake." "Blessed are they who are persecuted for my name's sake."

In Islam, it is considered an insult to Allah himself if you convert away from Islam. Without freedoms of expression protected like here in the United States (where one can insult God all day long and get little more than frowns and a few lectures), the religiously-controlled government can execute you for insulting their Allah.
Kinda makes you appreciate the first amendment that much more, doesn't it? Not to mention the separation of church and state. (There's a reason for it!)

Cause the Faith (Islam) is very strict to the point of being fanatical. You must also relize that this religion was created at a time when the was no religious freedom and unlike other religions Islam has not changed with the times.

It's because it is written in the Koran that anybody who converts from Islam must die. I'm not sure where. But I know it is there. The Prophet Muhammad made it a command.

It is not a Muslim practice, and if you don't believe me, this is from the Quran. The U.S. government does some unChristians acts as well.
[2:62] Surely, those who believe, those who are Jewish, the Christians, and the converts; anyone who (1) believes in GOD, and (2) believes in the Last Day, and (3) leads a righteous life, will receive their recompense from their Lord. They have nothing to fear, nor will they grieve.
5:44] We have sent down the Torah,* containing guidance and light. Ruling in accordance with it were the Jewish prophets, as well as the rabbis and the priests, as dictated to them in GOD's scripture, and as witnessed by them. Therefore, do not reverence human beings; you shall reverence Me instead. And do not trade away My revelations for a cheap price. Those who do not rule in accordance with GOD's revelations are the disbelievers.
Afgahanistan and Malaysia governments are disbelivers

Salam (Peace)!
It's very rare to see Muslims convert to other religions. Usually those who do convert are the ones that weren't brought up with true Islam. It's as simple as this!
Why does the US government forces its young to serve in the army? To defend their country and to be faithful to its nation, right? And the ones who refuse are punished! And this example is of human beings obeying another human being.
Now lets take the same scenerio, except here you would have a human being disobeying the order of God! Now shouldn't this person be punished for disobeying His Lord?
Islam is a true religion, if anyone turns away from it, he commits a grave sin! He is given a chance though to reclaim his religion.
I hope i answered you well, inshallah (God Willing).
Take care!

The particular governmental bodies read, support, and enforce a particular interpretation of the Koran. In that interpretation, conversion is a betrayal of Islam and subject to the death penalty. If you look I am sure that conversion to any other religion other than Christianity would result in the same fate.

Because Christians are considered infidels according to their book..... Think about how they must view Christians: people who think that they have been given a "free gift" of eternal life, yet they do whatever they want to do as far as "sinful" activities.

because they live in countries that do not have religious freedom.
Who gave this a thumbs down? it's true! Islam is not an evil religion that supports killing people, these unfortunate muslims just happened to live in a country where they had no religious freedom.
