This would refer to the flex of the shaft. While ratings vary by manufacturer "R" would mean regular as opposed to "S" Stiff, "XS" Extra stiff, "F" Firm, "L" Lite etc., The 75 is manufacturer specific but likely on the more flexible side. The flexibility of the shaft is usually relate to swing speed. Generally, the faster you swing speed the more stiffness you need, but torque is also a significant factor as well as the swing itself and how long the club head is square through the hitting zone. .

As others have said, the 'r' likely means regular flex. The 75 may be the shaft weight (in grams). Off the top of my head I know that Rifle, UST, and Aldila all have shafts which incorporate the weight into the shaft name.

i bet regular flex but im not sure if the 75 mean the weight as in 75 grams or if it might mean reccommended for 75 mph or higher swing speed. or maybe the 75 means nothing.
