If you call them they will tell you it's most likely a shot reaction and to watch it. It can take a few weeks to subside sometimes. As long as it doesn't open up and drain don't worry about it. It happens in 2 of every 100 dogs and cats.

Is it in the same area as where the shot was given? If it is, it could very well be from the shot. Dogs do get cysts all the time...NEVER try to squeeze or otherwise drain any kind of lump on your dog without your vet telling you to do so!!! Dogs also get tumors. Call your vet and ask if they think he should be seen. Vets don't charge you for a phone call. If they think it's from the vaccine and don't think its a concern, they'll likely have some advice for getting the lump to reduce. If it gets any bigger or doesn't clear up, they will need to see him. At the very least, call and see what they recommend.

Hello dear, I also have a puppy and I adore them in general. What was the reason for the shot he/ she got, a mere vaccination? If so, it could be a normal reaction of his body, fighting with the antibodies, which has every vaccine. Do not put at any rate a warm washcloth over the area, it could worsen his/her condition. There are cysts also occuring to the puppies. I am inclined to think that might be a reaction of the raies shot. Well, if that not become self-assimilated and not disappearing in the pending 2 days, do take him to the vet again. Good luck and kiss you puppy!!

You should just call the vet & ask them about it - is it at the injection site? If so, it is ok, it will get smaller & be gone in a few weeks. This happens sometimes. Oh, and dogs do get cysts - but when they get into the geriatric years generally.

Start rubbing the area, the shot stayed in place instead of soaking in. Rub 4 times a day or more depending on how long your fingers last. Put pressure while rubbing.

I just brought dog to the vet for the same exact thing yesterday. Its from the shot. That's what my vet told me. She did say that it is common, just to watch in just in case. If it gets bigger, then you should go in but right now no worries!

It's a reaction of the shot given him. Don't worry it will eventually go away after completing all his shot and in about a couple of months. Believe me I have 3 dobermanns, a german shepherd and a rottweiler. They all went through the process.

Take it to the Vet. A rabies shot isn't given in the back, it's given in the leg. ~
