CPD means Cephalo Pelvic Disproportion usually used in Obstetrics. The baby's head can't enter the birth canal, so when the membrane rupture the placental cord prolapse the baby's head and pelvic brim.

In modern medical practice cephalopelvic disproprtion is diagnosed by ultrasound. An elective caesarian section is performed. Cord prolapse is no longer seen.
