I’m going to admit that I’m terrible at learning other languages, but I love to hear them spoken, even if I have no idea of what they are saying, and I really want to learn Spanish. I’m taking Spanish I this semester, but I want to be able to speak and understand it well. I know this will take time, but I can be patience. Anyone has any tips that may help?

Practice with someone who already knows the language. I am Puertorican and my man is British. I am teaching him Spanish. I have him practice with me and he does very well. Get some books and Cd's or DVDs. Listen and repeat several times until you get it right and understand what is said. Good luck!
