Yeah as most of you know by now I have mis-spelled a commonly mis-spelled word. Instead of erasing it or editing it I will let it stay. Because unlike some people here, I am not afraid to admit I am not perfect and I do make mistakes. Too many people come on this site to put others down and make them look and feel stupid while at the same time trying to make them selves look like they are so smart and that you can't even compete with them. oHHH I'm intimadated. How many people think that there are some people here that think their **** don't stink? And how many people think that those people need a reality check to see that their **** smells just like everyone elses?

i agree with you that some people do want to look all good and smart when their on this site. the fact is that you become safe in knowing that they won't really confront you face to face to clarify what you really and that makes it intmidating.in fact, i have done it and i notice it every time for the other answerers. (i think some people even get from the searches and make it appear as if they were the ones who wrote it like the ones which are utterly long.) everyone thinks that all the other people are smarter and are afraid of what they might think when they give wrong or stupid answers and then they feel humility (i'm one of them). the truth is that i think i am quite smart though i know that there are others who are smarter than me so i accept it even if i would be embarrased with myself for giving dumb answers. but part of making making mistakes, as you clearly state that you are not afraid to commit them, is a part of everything who put stuff in this site that is, i mean, the people who really answer questions seriously. when there is an opportunity to correct a mistake, there is no harm in taking the effort to do so. on paper, we make mistakes so we use the eraser but when we're using a computer, there's always the backspace key :).

Sabrina, here's the problem. Those of us who care about others' feelings are the only ones who will read your rant and understand. The people you're talking about will just see it as an opportunity to make fun.
The best thing to do is ignore them. They're either very angry or just looking for attention. Both categories thrive off of people being bothered by them.
I'm a natural speller. Even though I'm careful, I still make mistakes. For myself, I only comment on a mistake if it makes me giggle (in a positive way- I like wordplay). I hope that I don't hurt someone's feelings but if I do, it's unintentional.
So please don't let those people bring you down. They'll always be around us. Just be proud of who you are and focus on your own strengths. Happy YAing!
To compulsive correctors: A so-called respect for language (which I have also) should not come before respect for people's feelings.

Poor spelling should never keep anyone from asking an intelligent question. That is a good way to learn, by asking questions. Hopefully the person answering will also graciously correct the misspelled work for everyone's benefit.
You are correct Sabrina, none of us are perfect. A misspelled word or a typo is NOT a sin. The idea is to learn from our mistakes.

OK.
Do you have any pet peeves? I'm sure you do. Misspelling and improper grammar is mine. It's not a matter of superiority or intimidation, it's just something that rubs me the wrong way.
My **** stinks and I'm not perfect.

I don't correct anyone's written or verbal grammar. Have too many of those faux-pas's myself. So you go ahead and be who you are, because I for one won't crticise YOU. I always try to correct my spelling only to make myself aware of my mistakes.

''intimadated'' hahahahaha - it just shows a lack of care and respect for language, some people here really dislike that, and if you have a problem with that, well, you have one more problem, what a shame. Booo hoooo hooooo.

I do hate it when people belittle others...especially when they are asking a serious question.
I do hate it though when people post stupid questions. They deserve belittling.

I have found that people with low self esteem belittle other individuals. I guess it makes them feel that they are worth something.
