Um hell yeah. Its not pressured.. its more like STIFLED. I mean, when you're in a relationship, its actually a natural reaction that you wanna spend much more time with your significant other rather than your friends, in the first place.
I wouldn't say that in a relationship, that theres no rules and standard. There is but they go unspoken. Like for example, the rule that you cannot date/have sex with other people when you're in a relationship is an unwritten rule. To treat the significant other with respect and love is a 'standard' that you must automatically achieve.
But to blatantly make up rules... well, its pretty ridiculous to me. You should feel the most freedom when you're with your significant other.. Rules just stomps on that.
There may be people out there who NEEDS rules thinking that this would better their relationship but the so-called rules, at the least, must be agreeable, do-able and tangible for both parties.

Yes its good to set rules and adjust as the relationship continues. Now no rule can ever go against your pursuit of happiness I don't care how insecure the other person is. You have every right to hang out w/your friends and have a social life but, 1st comes your relationship its a tough balance but, it can be done. Rules are more boundaries not to cross so there are no problems and if he/she accepts it then they have no right to complain later when you two are together.

You always have to have bounds and limits in relationships. The rule set have to be fair for everyone, though, not just one side or the other.

NO, control is a sign of insecurity. Move on, that is stupid to try and control another person. We don't need babysitters, we should be in relationships that we are equal to each other, and trust each other. If you have rules, then run.

Sure, it's alright to set some boundaries. For example, if you are married neither spouse can spend more than $100 without consulting the other first. However, I don't know if you need to have every little thing written out in some sort of contract. The "rule" you are referring to seems like it developed out of someone not getting their needs met.
