There is one thing in this world that you must never forget to do. If you forget everything else and not this, there's nothing to
worry about; but if you remember everything else and forget this, then you will have done nothing in your life.

It's as if a king has sent you to some country to do a task, and you perform a hundred other services, but not the one he sent you to do. So human beings come to this world to do particular work. That work is the purpose, and each is specific to the person. If you don't do it, it's as though a priceless Indian sword were used to slice rotten meat. It's a golden bowl being used to cook turnips, when one filing from the bowl could buy a hundred suitable pots. It's a knife of the finest tempering nailed into a wall to hang things on.

You say, "But look, I'm using the dagger. It's not lying idle." Do you hear how ludicrous that sounds? For a penny, an iron nail could be bought to serve the purpose. You say, "But I spend my energies on lofty enterprises. I study jurisprudence and philosophy and logic and astronomy and medicine and all the rest."
But consider why you do those things. They are all branches of yourself.

Remember the deep root of your being, the presence of your lord. Give your life to the one who already owns your breath and your moments. If you don't, you will be exactly like the man who takes a precious dagger and hammers it into his kitchen wall for a peg to hold his dipper gourd. You'll be wasting valuable keenness and foolishly ignoring your dignity and your purpose.

Purpose of life, is to experience things for God. We all have a major theme- like justice, healer, spirituality, and so on. We feel the best when we are working in our theme, we all have a guide, the little voice we heard or feeling that we should do something or not do something. We came down here with a plan, that we helped create, however we don't remember that part.
Our family, friends, pets meet us as we cross over and at that point can look just like we remember them.

The real purpose of life is:

Ultimately recognizing that you're that divine spark of the Supreme and it is up to you to work out your ' karma's' so that you're pure enough to merge into oneness with your maker, yes and that even means by passing heaven, for heaven is only a pit stop.
All, the material niceties in this world is just an illusion and does not have any bearing on your ultimate goal. However, you need material things to carry you through this life for this is a material world, just don't get caught up in it.

I have asked the same question. I think it depends on your own personal goal, and what you think about life, for some, life means having a family or working on a high paid job. I think different people have different definitions. But I guess deep down inside you know what youself need to achieve in the next couple of years. My answer to your question is just to achieve your goals step by step though it might be slow but I guess during the process you'll find fulfillment and a sense of accomplishment.

Biologically, the purpose of life is to continue life. That is where having a mate and children comes into play. We all feel that we are the perfect specimen of humanity, and we want to make sure that OUR genes are passed into the next generation. That is the genetic/biological purpose of life.
Religiously, the purpose is to prepare for the next life. Love your God, and love your neighbor as you love yourself. Simple, right?

You want proof of the afterlife? There is much. Look to the Bible, especially Revelations. While this may not be proof to an atheist or agnostic, it is proof enough for me. Jesus said, "I go to make a place for you in Heaven." I believe Him. Amen.

I think that our universe is a consciousness-generating, self-perpetuating machine designed to stave off final entropy creating infinity. The purpose of life is growth and happiness - basically creating our bit of reality. Our potential (not destiny) being that we evolve our brains and technology to be able to take on the mantle of universe creation more than we do now. It's not beyond our reach since we have a billion years to do this - think our minds can understand anything in the universe with enough time.

If you let go of the future because it hasn't happened yet, and the past because you can't do anythng about it. And you bring all your attention to this very moment...and you ask yourself "Who am I?"

If you look deeper than the roles you play, the concepts you believe, your hopes and dreams...and if you are very honest with yourself then you will find that you don't know who you are.

It's fasinating to me that we can live 15-80 years and not know who we are....

But if you keep looking deeper, you will find that not knowing ...is the beginning of the answer to the question you ask.

When you just sit with the emptiness of not knowing....from my direct experience I have learned that....the emptiness looks like a flatland for a while. But if I keep sitting quietly in this emptiness it is filled with silence....the silence turns to peace...the peace deepens to joy...and life is filled with a deep fulfillment.

I have found that no matter what situatin I face in life...this knowing that who I am....is silent awareness, peace , and joy...gives my life purpose.

But what is life? It is a vapor that appearth for a little moment and vanishth away. True, devout disciples of Christ will go to Heaven after death. Heaven's majesty, beauty and splendor is far beyond description. There shall be NO tears. However, non believers, on the other hand, shall be thrown into the Lake of Fire, eternally separated from their loved ones.
May my answer bless you. Hallelujah!

Our purpose in life is to make something of ourselves by being generous not becoming famous. To help others in need. Pray for others, keep who we love close to our hearts.
I strongly believe that there is a purpose for why we humans walk among this earth. We have to let God show us the way and then we fill in the blanks. It may be hard, but nobody said life was going to be easy. We need to learn the ways of generosity in order to survive.
Like I always say "Help others like you would like to be helped and you will thrive in life".
LG and God Bless
