Television is "blanket coverage" - whatever is within the broadcast range of their antenna will get the signal. We get commercials from restaurants that are 50 or 60 miles away, but because they are within the range of the broadcast, we get them. In the future some technology may make this more focused, but that hasn't happened yet.

Good question. I constantly see Jack in the Box and Boston Market commercials in the New Orleans area, and dey ain't none to be found nowhay round here.

I think what we are seeing are national tv spots, so the same commercial is being seen all across the country. These companies are so big, that it's just cheeper to pay for the national spot vs. a bunch of local spots.

I live in Puerto Rico and have cable TV, all the programming is from the U.S. mainland and many of the ads are not replaced with local advertising. Sonic ads are driving me crazy! I wish they would open a franchise here.

I know what you mean, i see Domino's and Pizza Hut commercials talking about how they will deliver their food to your door and how great it is, but I call them up and they are like 'no way, that's too far' and the closest damn KFC to me is 40 minutes away. Stupid hoes.
