If you have money to waste buying the Daily Star - you can't be surprised that it's reporting this sort of crap. I just checked all the latest news and I think you've been had by a right wing scare story. I was worried about exploding laptop batteries for a moment. Mine is getting a little warm - on charge. The prospect of losing my leg - doesn't thrill me. But it's only Dell computers that are exploding, well mostly. Apparently, your laptop can blow up whatever the make. Incidentally, the £98 a month is for the humps in the road to be installed by the contractor who happens to be your councillor's brother-in-law. You asked for them! To stop your street being a rat run. Your wife drives the rug rats to school in her "Chelsea tractor" - the road, the humps, the school all have to be paid for.

So, your source is the Daily Star. Is that the same example of gutter press which usually has naked women adorning the front page, in addition to other news worthy stories such as hippopotamuses swallowing toilet seats? I note that I did not read this story in The Times today or any other reputable paper.

Surely you are not lacking in basic mathematical skills to realise that such a suggestion is preposterous.

Think about it:

For every 100 migrants that enter the country the Government would have to pay a million pounds. Does that sound practical (or realistic) to you?

P.S. I am also quite alarmed that so many people are taking such a logic-defying comment seriously, with only a minority questioning its accuracy.

Perhaps the education system is being 'dumbed down' after all.

I am born in britian my son is british he had a major accident in 2002 he has brain damage has tried 2 jobs since the accident but been sacked from both do you think we can get money for him we have tried to no avail even got him to sign on still no money from feb to aug

Dont label me as pro government but yeah I agree on face value you sounds like a sick joke, it all depends if they get anything else?

Will they also reviece benefits as well as the £10k? as if they dont then this could be saving the government over £10k a year!?!?.

Not letting them reley on benefits and giving them a pot of money that in time will run out, so they have to get a job could be the answer, and doesnt make coming here look so easy.

If they still get benefit then yes this is sick joke.

I've never heard of this "Golden Hello" either.
I'm strongly opposed to the heavy taxation you mention, but I'm also aware that there are even more 'proper brithish' people sitting on their lazy fat @rses, living off benefits.
The entire benefit system should be cut off or at least heavily reformed.
I'm against immigration in principle, but can't help thinking that I'd rather live beside 500 hard-working, tax-paying Polish / Indian / Czeck folk than 100 benefit sponging 'proppa-brit-chavs'.
