You can get angry, but remember- If you can't say something nice, don't say anything at all.

You can get angry although that really won't solve anything except make you upset. I just wouldn't bother trying to give them advice or anything anymore. If they question this, I would simply put it like that. That they have refused to do anything to change the way they are or what they can do about certain situations. That you don't want to hear them whine anymore unless they start making a conscious effort to change their problems.

In this situation, it is best to break ties, unless, of course, they are family! Even then you may have to take a step back! When they start to moan and whine, stop them immediately, and say you are not in for another pity party, but if they would like some constructive criticism, then you are all ears! Good luck.

You certainly are allowed to get angry with these people but it does not help you or the other person.

Some people are unable to help themselves. If you are a true friend you would stick by the person. If this person is truly dragging you down, affecting your life or is a danger to you spiritually or mentally, you are permitted to drop him/her from your life. But skip the anger, it doesn't help.

You are allowed to get really really angry at anything. I believe that criticizing people is not a constructive way of helping or leading people in a beneficial direction.

Why get angry? Feel pitty or sorrow. But don't get angry. Some times they don't listen just because they DON'T want to solve their problems. They'd rather hear that people see their plight and feel sorry for them. DON'T FEED INTO IT. If they don't listen, then you don't listen either. Their problems are not yours to solve.

Only when people listen do they grow. Those who don't grow don't live.

Yes! I have that with one friend of mine, who will continually text me and call me with her problems, I feel sorry for her and then give her good advice. She leaves me drained. She never does anything to help herself and just feels sorry for herself and moans all over again. I get so angry with her stubborn attitude and the fact she doesn't do anything to help herself.

I would say no. But you can cut them off if the way they choose to live is affecting you. Or just refuse to give in to their psychology. Point out that they are responsible adults and have to do something to help themselves.

I myself have NO tolerance for whiners. I will help and extend a hand to anyone needing help that is trying to help themselves, but people that feed off of other peoples sympathy is sicking and a true disgrace. So yes,,,, maybe getting mad at their lame asses will get the point across. Believe me their whining is not the solution to their problems. :)
