My favorite pet theory is that Jesus was a telepath.
The first passage from the Gospel of John is "In the Beginning was the word, and the word was with God and the word was God".
The idea here being that the ability to make your thoughts exist without vocalization as a medium, was the first "proof" Jesus offered that he had developed a thought process (or a soul) that could manifest independently of the body.
The most repeated phrase in the four gospels is some variation on "Those who have ears, let them hear". So maybe many were called (telepathically), and those that were chosen were the ones that could consciously acknowledge that this "word" was an effective demonstration that Jesus had a permanent spirit. Able to operate with or without a physical presence.
Eh, but what do I know? After all, I have a fondness for heretical teachings, and I'm off my meds. :>)

The Bible says, "The Lord isn't really being slow about his promise to return, as some people think. No, he is being patient for your sake. He does not want anyone to perish, so he is giving more time for everyone to repent" (2nd Peter 3:9). Also, Jesus commands us to proclaim the Gospel to the whole world: "Go into all the world and preach the Good News to everyone, everywhere" (Mark 16:15). As to the verse, "Many are called but few are chosen" it simply means the Lord desires that all get saved; but He knows that many will reject His offer of salvation. Please don't reject God's plan of salvation! "For God so loved the world that he gave his only Son, so that everyone who believes in him will not perish but have eternal life" (John 3:16)

God call on all but most will chose not to follow him so in the end only a few will be chosen to enter the Heaven with Him - the ones that followed Him.

Good question. Since he already knows who will be chosen, why would he waste his time calling everyone else? Hmmm... yet another question to ponder. Or how about, if only a few are chosen, why does everyone else get the shaft?

God can call as many as He wants but the few that are chosen are the ones who willingly submit to the call. You see,God is a gentleman- never forces Himself but waits to be invited.

Every person on the planet is "called" some reject God some follow Him. God wishes that all would come to repentance and I know that I have been given more chances than I deserve but our God is merciful.
Keep the faith.

Think of it as a manager calling in candidates. He calls in many and selects the best to fill the vacancy.
