She'll be alright. A day or two without pooping will not harm her. She is just a little tense after her ordeal. She will go when she needs to. Even humans can go a day or two with becoming badly constipated. If she seems like she is getting stopped up and tries to go but can't, feed her a little tuna with oil - works every time and won't cause the runs.

The fact that your dog is urinating is a good sign. The fact that she has not defecated could be nothing or there could be a problem. It may have nothing to do with the leash unless she refused to defecate while on the leash previously. I would call the vet and ask for advice--they know the dog's medical history and can ask you the right questions to determine if there's a problem. Good luck and I hope she makes a full recovery!

hi, im not an expert, but you should try taking it somewhere else because she might hav a bad past with that spot that stops her from going, or you could try getting a differnt leash, i dont why, but it seems like a good thing, also, stimulate it more, go for longer walks, run a little, and if that doesnt work, try going to a differnet vet to see if they say something different, good luck

Hi
just because she didnt go dosent mean anything! she might not have to go ,,,she is just getting over the trama of the surgery, i bet if you ask your vet he will say the same thing!
on the same note though if you think that he is not going and really has to you can stimulate his anal this can be done by taking a thermomiter and using the end of it , to stimulate him and he will want go , BUT dont stick it in to far an d dont do this unless you really have to you dont want him to strain and try to go if he really doesnt have to !! give him a few more days , i am betting he will be fine,,

If she was attacked in the area where you take her to go to the bathroom she may be afraid try taking her away to a park or somewhere else unfamiliar.

Are you just taking her out, or are you walking her. I have found that if you walk a doggie, they usually will poop but standing still they won't. I assume your yard is not fenced in, therefore you must walk her.
