When I got my dog two years ago, the breeder had him on Eukanuba puppy. I kept up with that because I always fear switching food and giving the dog and bowel problems (their stomachs don't adjust well to change). When I took him to the vet, they said that it was an excellent choice for food. They sell it at my vet along with Hills Science Diet I think. It's called something like that. Just be aware of food with alot of preservatives (kibbles'n'bits and the like)- your dog doesn't need all that garbage and it's a very good way to make them fat. Dogs don't care if their food is shaped like a t-bone or has "cheese" flavors mixed in. Go for what's good for the dog and not necessarily what looks better to your wallet. Good luck and if all else fails- ask your vet.

I have used **** Van Patton's Natural Balance diets for years on my three dogs. They are all natural with no artificial preservatives. I would also include Canidae, Wellness, Innova, and California Natural, to name just a few. Definitely avoid generic brands. Go with the better quality, more natural diets.

I love Royal Canin German shepherd for my GSDs. IT's natural, full of really good stuff and no junk. Most dogs foods you buy in a grocery store are junk. Nutro, Royal Canin, Chicken soup for the soul, Innova, Canidae, Diamond, etc are great foods compared to grocery store foods. Anything that doesnt have corn and is full of meat is preferable for MY dogs! I love them and only want them to eat the healthiest food for them. I also combine a raw diet ocassionally.

We have had our dogs on Diamond Premium Adult for a while now. Before this, we were feeding Diamond Lamb and Rice and then feeding pups, Diamond Large Breed Puppy. The Diamond is a good food for the price of it. It depends on the breed of the animal and what is needed for that specific breed. Our Shepherds do great on the Diamond.

Actually, I have tried all the "special and fancy" brands. OL ROY from Wal-Mart works just fine. My vet even recommends it. It competes well with science diet, Iams, Eukanuba< etc. and costs about half the price. Sam Walton (founder of Wal-Mart) had this product invented and manufactured with the highest quality in mind especially for his own do, Ol Roy. He loved that dog madly and insisted on the best for him. My labs have beautiful shiny coats and sparkling eyes, white teeth and lots f energy. This product has done wonderfully for them. Try some!

I now feed my cat "science diet md" this food contains what a cat would eat in the wild. Most store bought cat foods contain alot of plants as the main ingredient, which causes alot of overweight cats and cats that do not get the nutrients they need

This question depends on your dog, big or little, fat or skinny, young or old. They best advise is to check with your vet. Of course maybe you don't have a dog, you didn't say what your pet is.
