What does it mean when you are talking to a guy and he says he needs a girlfriend. I am single and we are on a date and he says that like a statement. Like I need to wash my car. That's way it feels. Is he asking me or just telling me. What should I say? Is he asking me??

It was probably his way of trying to find out how you felt about him.
Ask him if there is anyone in particular he was thinking about when he made the comment "I need a girlfriend."
If he says you, and your interested, well, there you go.
If he doens't say a name, or says he doesn't know, and you are interested tell him, "that's too bad, because I'm interested."
If he says someone else's name, I guess that means you guys should just be friends.

He as much as confessed that he's desperate,... It slipped out, and didn't realize he goofed.
You don't need a guy like that - seems like he's a user. There are other fish in the sea, but some fish are finer, you deserve better.

he could be too shy to ask you out OR too lazy and wants you to do the hardwork!
