Hi,
Does anyone know how long it takes to process I-140 form? How can you check its status and is there another form that needs to be associated with I-140. I will apply for petition based on extraordinary ability.
Thank you in advance.

it probably depends on what your ability is that you are claiming, and what status you currently hold in the US... if you already have a visa in the US, you may need to file for an adjustment of status.....
I heard these applications vary depending on what your ability is, and who much they think you are 'special' and how well you prove your case.... there is no rush on your case, so it is not very fast as they would for immediate family members or for jobs.
processing dates can be found on this site: https://egov.immigration.gov/cris/jsps/index.jsp

It took about little over year from filed the form to got the citizenship. After you file the I-140, you will receive a letter with phone number and web site that you can check. Number is different depend on your location.
They will send you a letter for each event. (For ex: Finger printing) If you missed any of these with out their permit, you have to start all over again.
Good luck !

It depends on what you are although a minimum of 5 years is standard. However since you have extraordinary skill we can make it 10 years so you will realize you're not special.
