Professional photography is like any arts/entertainment business - it is difficult to get started and noticed.

Because it's a "fun" type of job, there are lots and lots of people that would like to make it their job. And with the technology available now, all those people can make respectable looking photographs.

The old Law of Supply and Demand says that when there is a big supply (potential professional photographers) and not enough demand (customers to be photographed), most photographers will not make much money.

Still, if this is your serious dream, go for it.

You need to get known in your community as a photographer. Get out and take pics of community events and try to get them into a local newspaper. Do volunteer photography. Enter contests. Teach photography. Get a job (even unpaid) as an assistant to a local pro photographer.

Build up a portfolio and put it in a sample album. (a nice one)

Put photos on a website that sells for you.

Document your activities in a resume.

Do anything you can to build up your name and reputation. Tell everyone who will listen how much you love photography.

Then keep at it, again and again. Persistence is the most common characteristic of success.

Good Luck

All will pay about the same. Its fast food. You are gonna be paid min. wage and that wont get you in college. LOL. Not by a long shot. Plus you are 16. You do not go to college till you are 18. and I know for a fact Chipotle hires 18 and older. Same could be said for ihop....

Stock photography so you don't have to quit your day job. Wedding will need a lot of experience. Someone will be very angry if you mess up their wedding memory.

Fastest pay probably by taking any job offered to you.

You need to build a reputation try becoming a school photographer, maybe go to the school you attended and ask for a chance to become there school photographer . Also maybe specialize in animals ? Once you build up a name in your community for events or such then you can do what you like.
