I'm to believe in Him, worship Him, and never disobey Him, or He'll condemn me to Hell.

How does this differ from being a slave? Why does God want to be worshipped by slaves?

Both the God as well as the Hell are contrived by the human beings. We have been slaves of these unfounded believes over these centuries, but with the development of human consciousness people of late, have started revolting against such dogmas and the number of rebel Christians are increasing day by day whole over the world.

A slave has not choice in the matter. A Christian follow because he believes it is the right path for them. If you read the bible and agree with all that it says then you do not begrudge giving back to GOD what is HIS. Would you read a warning label on a stove that to touch the eye directly will burn you and still place your hand to the flame? If you believe it will burn, then more than likely you will not put your hand on it. That would not be considered being a slave, just being informed. It never says in the bible you will not disobey HIM. He did give you a get out of hell free card when he sent his son to die for your sins. None are automatically condemed to hell except those who choose to not believe. Yeah, I'd say you have a choice. My thing would be you need to choose before it's too late.

I see it this way:

Man is heading Hell without God's intervention (Jesus' redemptive act on cross). He loves me so much that He gave me freedom.

Jn 8:34-36
Jesus replied, "I tell you the truth, everyone who sins is a slave to sin ... If the Son set you free, you will be free indeed."

But if anyone sees this freedom as slavery -- and choose to reject it -- he is on the same old way to you-know-where.

If God wants slaves' worship. As Creator, He would not give free will in first place.

You are being too simplistic. Some religions don't even believe in the existance of Hell. Others think that we live through Hell here on earth. If you are searching for answers, or just something to believe in, do some research. There are many paths to Heaven, and God does not care what you call Him, as long as you do. Also, I believe the Bible, like Grandfather's stories, were just parables to teach us how to live our lives as individuals and as societies. Peace.

You have asked a very intelligent question.
God does not want to be worshipped by slaves. Therefore He gives every living entity a free choice to love Him or to leave Him. Love is volonteer, it cannot be forced, so you have right to turn away from Him. However, this is not your natural position, because originally all living beings are meant to love God. Those who love Him live with Him eternally in the spiritual world a life full of bliss and knowledge. But those who instead of loving Him are envious of Him and want to try to be God themselves are sent to this material world. Here you can do whatever you want, but you must take into account that you are yourself responsible for your actions. There is the law of karma that for your every action there is certain reaction, either now or in the future. This reaction can be either enjoyment or suffering. You can do something which will bring you millions of dollars in this or next life, or you can do something for which you will be sent to hell. Here God gives you this freedom to act as you like, but you are responsible yourself. He does not condemn you to hell, but if you perform certain activities, you will go to hell according to law of karma, or you will get great enjoyment according to law of karma.
So God has given you free will and He provides you all facility to act as you like, so do not blame Him. He gives you what you want. However, His deep desire is that everyone returns to Him, therefore if somebody decides to choose loving Him again, if somebody turns away from present egoistic life and decides to instead worship God and obey Him, God will give such living being special facilities and protection and special happiness.
God loves you very much. He will give you whatever you want. But He recommends that you turn to Him, because this is how you will become incredibly happy, instead of suffering consequences of your possible wrong deeds. So choice is up to you.

You, nor I, are God's slaves. The 2 main properties of being a 'true' Christian: treat others as you want to be treated. This includes, but not limited to cleaning up your own messes. If everybody did 'this', there would be no 'messes' to clean up 'cause you already did it yourself.

The second: Honor your heavenly Father because you are one of his children, like it or not.

Hate and disdain for God breed ignorance. Wise up and may God bless you.

John 3:18 He that believeth on him is not condemned: but he that believeth not is condemned already, because he hath not believed in the name of the only begotten Son of God.

God will not condemn you to hell, if you wind up in hell it will be by your choice to live seperate from God by denying him. The condemnation is your choice....

2Peter 3:9 The Lord is not slack concerning his promise, as some men count slackness; but is longsuffering to us-ward, not willing that any should perish, but that all should come to repentance.

God dosnt want you to go to hell thats why he provided a way of salvation for you.
God bless you may you come to realize his love for you

"The man who wants to be loved does not desire the enslavement of the beloved. He is not bent on becoming the object of passion, which flows forth mechanically. He does not want to possess an automaton, and if we want to humiliate him, we need only try to persuade him that the beloveds passion is the result of a psychological determinism. The lover will then feel that both his love and his being are cheapened. If the beloved is transformed into an automaton, the lover finds himself alone."--Existential Philosopher Jean-Paul Sartre

I suppose one could argue that it's a choice between WHO it is we serve. We are either God's 'slave' or the world's 'slave'. At least with God - He promises something good from choosing to serve Him. What does the world promise?! Craig!! :o)
