I'm not Christian and believe there was a man named Jesus who was a revolutionary of his time. And the following movement has been greatly influential in culture and politics ever since. Some has been bad, some has been good. But no matter what your beliefs - even if you believe he is a total myth - you can't deny that Jesus has had an effect on things for about 2000 years now.

We're not really talking about Jesus. He's relatively unknown. Even the stuff in the Bible was written decades after he died, if he existed at all.

I talk mostly about the Jesus believers here. Belief is a fascinating subject. It's amazing how much people will believe something, even when it's not backed up by any facts and makes outrageous claims. It's interesting how certain types of belief can be used to control others and are self-propagating.

It really gives an insight into human nature. Humans have been emotional animals far longer than rational ones. Though we think ourselves advanced, a majority of us still fall victim to these superstitions.

We still talk about Alexander the Great, and he died 300 years before Jesus was born. Does that make him more or less important?

Ask yourself... why?

Man I feel dumber just for answering this question...

Because religion is a meme. People are gullible, looking for someone to lead them and they fear burning in hell.

By the way, Jesus is the false Messiah, sorry. (I'm not really sorry).
If I destroy your Jesus/Messiah belief you can always convert to Judaism or Islam (<--- Same god anyway), or whatever you want.

why not. His believers live the way He wants us to, and we pray to him daily, some pray several times a day, so He is in our minds constantly. Those people who don't believe in him are awaiting their messiah to arrive, so maybe they are asking themselves why if ours arrived already then why hasn't theirs arrived yet.
