To cook, is to subject foods to the action of heat in order to make them more digestable. There are various ways of applying heat to foods. The method used depends on wheather the item is tough or tender.
Baking is the primary cooking method used in preparing breads, cakes, pies and pastries. Baking like roasting of meats is cooking by surrounding the item with dry heat in an oven. The baking time will vary depending on the size of the item, the temperature of the oven, the type of item involved, and the particular ingredients involved

Baking is a subset of cooking. Cooking in the broadest sense can include any process of preparing food (even adding spices or chopping stuff up), but in common use, refer to the application of heat. Personally I'd argue that heating up canned soup or reheating food which is already ready to eat shouldn't count as cooking, but that's me :) Certainly any heating of food that results in a change of texture or appearance probably qualifies as cooking.

Baking specifically refers to cooking within a closed oven, as opposed to on a grill, or in a pan, or a pot of boiling water, etc.

Baking is just a method of preparation. It just means that you are using the oven (on bake not broil) to cook your food.
