we"ve been together for almost two years. am certain that we truly love each other but there is a similar reason of our arguments and fights. we seldom fight but always for the same reasons: his drinking habit from pm to am and his going out to bars with his bad boy bestfriend.. can i still change him? what must i do? please help? thanks!

Although I believe people can change; I also fully believe that people don't just change for others, and if they do, they will end up resenting that person.
If you can't love him for who he is, then stop trying to change him and just let him go.
Just remember, however, that nobody is perfect, and everyone has his/her issues.

RED FLAG....two of them actually. Your BF sounds like a complete alcoholic, so why would you think you could change that? Do you know something AA doesn't? If you've got the formula for getting him to stop, then you need to write a book, be on Oprah, etc.
Second (and why do women do this?), why would you look to change anyone you'd be in relationship with? Did you find the closest thing to Mr. Right and figure you could shape off the rough spots yourself? That's a recipe for absolute misery, at some point.

It is impossible to change anybody, I also want to change the bad habit of my hubby for more than ten years , never done. So you have to learn to get used to it. Good Luck!!

Why would you want to change him? Didn't he do this before you met him? You knew what you were getting into. You made your bed, now lay in it.
You trying to change him is probably driving him to drink.
