Ok i was at this bar and grill with my mom and this hot waiter was flirting with me, and yeah, i was flirting with him. He asked my mom if i was her daughter and she said yes. Then he told her Good Luck. What does that mean? What do you think thats supposed to mean?

It means you are probably under 18. You are flirting with a person who is probably older than 18. And no matter how many people think it's OK, it's still illegal for the person over 18 to be involved with a minor. Act your age. Date people in your age group. And have fun. When you mature and become an adult you'll understand.

Well, it could mean a lot of things...

If you are attractive, he could have meant it as a compliment... as in, "good luck dealing with all the suitors she is going to have..."

I seriously doubt that a waiter in a professional environment would have said something other than a compliment, else risking the loss of a tip at best, or getting fired in a worst case scenario...

Regardless, since you have no idea what the context was that he said it, go with it as a compliment. No use getting worked up over a random comment from a stranger...

It may have just been his way of continuing the flirt cycle. If you were getting through to him, he probably meant it in the vein of "you've got your hands full with this one", probably to be interpreted as his opinion that you are quite the firecracker. It was a way of indirectly showing his interest in you through a conversation not directed towards you, but about you and in earshot.

Look, you met him in a work environment, it would be totally inappropriate for him to make an advance towards you (especially with MOM around). You're going to have to make a move if your interest was more than just to flirt with a cute guy. Go back to the restaurant and ask to be seated in his section, and tell him why you came back there. If he's interested, that will be enough of an opening for him to be bolder, but you'll still probably have to initate how to contact each other outside of work.

He was just being friendly. Maybe the fact that he asked was that your mom, was because he knew he had to be wary, maybe he was worried about what your mom thought if he asked you out. He may have been just doing his job too.

he's trying to come across as the cynical one. many guys do this. they try to pretend that they're cool and nonchalant. It's his sense of humor...it might not apeal to you, but he will try it to impress you.
