My son has ADHD and is Bipolar and I have found that the best way to deal with his tantrums is to sit and hold him tightly until the tantrum is over. While I am holding him, I speak very softly to him to try to help calm him down. When the tantrum is over, I try to ask him about the reason for the tantrum. Hope this helps. Best Wishes!!

Seriously, my dad slaped me on the cheek or back of head with medium force.

My mom locks me outside of the house and leave sme crying.

My mom also once took a picture of me crying.

I turned out fine. :)

well please be clear on what kind of *special* your talking bout :)...... mentially retarded kids you just need to be more childish with them...more friendly..and such... no actual way to calm them down without looking like a bad parent.....

Down sydrome *special* kids..cant be controlled... sorry to say..only way to control them is in special care.
