Get a single bed and you don't have to think about it. you can sleep in theirs. Date lots and often even if it is just coffee. Go to the gym, have a life sit on boards you can meet lots of higher ranking males on boards. Directors, managers etc. Go to seminars of interest, meet lots of people network. Yes I am happy when the right one comes then I will of course be happier. Mean while I can just have fun. eat when I want sleep when I want bath when I want go out when I want etc.

single straight male - 57 - never married
For a while in my 30's I thought I would make a good dad and husband. Took a lot of peer pressure about being single. Thought I had a contribution to make but never hooked up with the right person. Same people who hassled me in my 30's and 40's now think I was the smart one as they are burdened by breakups or expenses of children. It is a lot cheaper and easier to be single. You need to be good company for yourself and resposible for your own happiness and you are free to be anything or go anywhere you want. Still lots of dating opportunities, got to start my own business which might not have happened if I had other financial responsibilities, I play golf when I want to, sleep and eat when its convenient for me and if someone wants to do something with short notice I can do it. Only thing I worry about is how long will it be before someone finds the body when I die.

well I assume you are a girl. Things are tough for girls passing 30s.
I can only give you my POW.. I will turn 34 in November and I am single as "not married"... I tend to have small stories few weeks long, I find it difficult to get over that timescale.. sometimes it happens but it doesnt seem to be my nature.
I feel fine.. I love the quick burst of passion,, but, as I said, I think for men is much easier to be "single" over 30s.

I'm not 35 yeat, but will be in a few years. I'm single and I don't like it. If I'm still single at 35 I think I'll just find the nearest bridge and jump off it.

Happiness... what the ancient philosopher tell about it, is totaly different from todays thoughts. who is right? today or ancient days...
Are the people today happier ?
Single or married, happiness is inside of you.
You said your faith is important. What does it say? Don't you have a aim or duty in this world.
