Most people carry on the beliefs of their parents.
Children are given to accepting what their parents tell them and carrying most of it into adulthood.

But religion itself is founded in the fear of death and life.
Most people simply dont have the psychological bearing to entertain the notion that their faith is incorrect.

Thats not an insult. Its a deeply human thing. Unfortunately, its also not one of our better traits.

I don't think that anyone believes the exact way that i do. Yes i was introduced to Christianity through my parents but when i was old enough to think for myself i started viewing things about different religions and putting all the things i thought were correct to me into my practice of religion. As for why people fight in the name of religion. These people are called fanatics and they think that if everyone does not agree with their point of views then we must be wrong and if we refuse to convert to their way of thinking we must die. Kinda crazy huh. I myself believe that their is a God and he sent down to earth many forms of himself. Take for instance Buddha well if God would have sent Jesus over to where Buddha came from and said i am the son of god and we are all made in his image well they would have looked at this strange man and said i look nothing like you so why should i believe what you have to say. I think in all religions there is one thing that is common to all of them and that is the golden rule. Do unto others as you would have them do unto you. So i live my life as best i can and try and be nice to other people by not lying to them or hurting them in any way or stealing from them. So at night before i go to bed i say a prayer to God and Jesus and ask for my sins to be forgiven because i am not perfect and i know in my heart that i will be forgiven. Peace

Neat. You have a good opinion. It just happens to be wrong :)

Now. I'm considering you being an authority in Christian religion since you mentioned what MY faith teaches.

ALL babies of ANY religion are born under a covenant of God, In the Christian Faith.

Babies are not born Christians per sa. They are born "protected". By: God Himself. They will remain protected until such time they hear and acknowledge TRUTH and accept it or reject it.

Now. I assume you have scripture that supports your opinion?

I couldnt agree more. Ppl are sheep and will eat what ever they are spoon fed. I dont mean to be down on relegion but how can I help it. Just about everyone I know claim be Christian yet we all seem to lie, cheat, and do what ever to make thing go in our favor.. It all makes me scared for the kind of world my kids are growing up in. I am tired of ppl envoking relegion to further there own personal views

Thanks for letting me vent

I believe my religion, because my religion has proved itself to be true. How is it that Jesus of Nazareth could fulfill so many prophecies written hundreds of years before He was ever born? He must be who He said he was...God in human flesh come to save His people. Get to know Jesus and you'll see that it's not just because my parents believed it. What if it's true???

Having a reliogion isn't the problem. It's being told that your religion is THE religion and everybody else is wrong. It is then when people start having problems.

The fight is over Truth, which is either absolute or non-existent. Pick your side.
