If you are truly serious about pursuing this path there will be lots and lots of reading and researching to do. You must be fully commited.

Wicca: A Guide for the Solitary Practioner: by Scott Cunningham is a great book to start off with. It gives you an overview of the wiccan religion and also gets you started on magic and ritual. If you are lucky you may be able to find an edition that has 3 of his best books in one. The first one, living wicca, and complete book of insecne oils and brews.

Here is a website that explain the different traditions: http://www.witchvox.com/_x.html?c=trads

have fun and never stop learning

Alot depends on where you are, if you're in the UK, there are some very good covens around, the best place to start would be the Pagan federation, who are a respectable group of people that can put you in the right direction. http://www.paganfed.org/.

Other than that, please be careful, there are also alot of nutters about. Speak to them, meet them first in a neutral place, like a pub and ask them what type of craft they practice. Most witches are either Gardnerian or Alexandrian, there are only minor differences. NEVER meet a man on his own just try to remember your personal safety as the most important thing.

Blessed be

First, you should do as much research as possible on the religion and decide if it is for you. I will give you a list of sites to do this in the sources. Religioustolerance is a good place to research on many religions and decide which one fits you most. Second, just don't get up and decide that you want to be Wiccan; Do the research and make sure it is right for you and make sure that you know a lot about the religion before you start practicing and before you tell everyone your religion. Also, make sure that in your rituals and spells you practice the three-fold law. '"1Mind the three-fold law you should, three times bad and three times good."!

First, you will most likely need to be over the age of 18. Next you need to find a legitimate coven and get accepted for training and initiation. There are no shortcuts and you can't get it from any book. http://tradwicca.org is decent site and has some good links.

Read some books, do some searching on the 'net for info. If there is a shop in your area that deals with spiritual supplies, go visit it and talk to the people that work there.

you can always look it up on Yahoo, Plenty of sites around.
Main advice I have is don't expect everything all at once. This is a lifelong path of learning, and sometimes you have to go and look for it. Searching is part of the path....
