WHy do people elect the members of same family in the politics though they might not elegible to rule and administer the people of their country

Its more of the family name mixed with sympathy especially when death has occured.
We tend to identify with brand names even in politics and this leads to poor leadership as has been seen in America and the world over. Better the devil you know....

i dont think the constitutions defines the eligibility to rule.
Its just that persons of same family get a leverage in politics.

Will like to take attention to India where first Nehru was prime minister. Some time later his daughter became. Then her son became . And now his wife from Italy(who cant even speak any Indian languagaue and had never been in politics) is kind of ruling the country. And his son says that he can become prime minister the day he wants..... Well thats just a joke of democracy...

Its just an example. Persons at high post are still human. So they tend to help people they know.

Why people vote for them maybe sentimental.

nepotism is a very old phenomenon in politics.. the sad thing is that, apparenlty, democracy hasn't been able to change that

favoritism and that they will be treated a lot better then the average person.
