I was at one point of my life a Christian. The reason I stopped being one becuase I didn't have the heart to say or think that another person that isn't Christian that they would one day be damned to hell. I still believe in all the morals that the bible promotes. I believe in loving God and respecting him. But I do not believe Christ was God. He might have been holy. But He is not God. Do you think that one day that i'll be in hell?

I don't believe in hell. I'm just wondering what Christians think. I'm loking for an opinion.

Jesus said, "I am the way, the truth, and the life. No one comes to the father except through Me." John 14:6

About Jesus being God. "In the beginning was the Word and the Word was with God and the Word was God." John 1:1
"And the Word became flesh and dwelt among us" John 1:14

You will go to hell if you continue to believe the way you do. God does not send you to hell, your sin sends you to hell. He allows it because if you don't love him or believe in him, why would he drag you into heaven? You obviously don't want to be there if you do not accept Jesus. He just ratifies your choice.

Now, the fact you asked the question shows me that you aren't really sure you made the right decision. Lucky for us all, Jesus did die on the cross as a substitute for us. He took our place and our sins upon himself so that we may be saved.

"..that if you confess with your mouth Jesus is Lord and believe with your heart that God raised him from the dead, you will be saved." Romans 10:9

I hope this helps.

Maybe what has disillusioned you is that the concept of "hell" over the centuries turned into something like a place of fiery torture and physical suffering, when the actual concept should be described differently. If hell is defined more as a place of being separated from the presence of God and your family and friends, then it is a different kind of suffering that takes place, a sort of galactic kind of loneliness and darkness of spirit. When it comes to the spirits of those who have ever lived on this earth, I believe that there is a spirit world where they are all sent, and there are different levels. Some spirits have more freedom to travel than others. Those who have been willfully evil on this earth have the least amount of freedom to travel. Everyone is still in a process of learning, and just because someone does not have the chance to hear about the Gospel of Jesus Christ in a format they can understand in this life does not mean they are condemned to hell. In fact, I believe that everyone will at some point in time hear the Gospel of Jesus Christ in a way that is uniquely tailored to their level of understanding. I believe that 1 Peter 4:6 touches on this idea, that "for this cause was the gospel preached also to them that are dead, that they might be judged according to men in the flesh, but live according to God in the spirit." In other words, people on earth may have the idea that non-believers automatically go to hell, but the actual plan of God to educate His children is much more all-encompassing and merciful. It's not a good idea for anyone to tell anyone else they are going to hell, because obviously none of us have that kind of authority.
As for Jesus Christ, I believe He was the Son of God. When I go to cemeteries on Memorial Day or other times of the year, and I stand quietly and listen, I feel the imminent power of the Resurrection is being held in check for only a period of years longer. As a member of the Church of Jesus Christ, I believe in the Bible and the Book of Mormon, which both testify of the divine nature of Jesus Christ.
By the way, if you are a fan of the movie "The Matrix," that might help you think of how there is more to life than meets the eye, that there are other dimensions we cannot see. However, remember that it is science fiction.
Have a happy day.

let me tell u something, plain and simple. at the end of the day it does not matter which God u worship, what religion u belong to or how u worship. all that matters is that u be good to people around u. help the needy and make the community better. if u take all the positive aspects from a religion then incorporate it in ur life and if u follow - live and let live philosophy- trust me this earth will be a blissful Heaven. and this applies to each one of us.

instead of seeing the differences and arguing over varieties, we all should individually see what all faiths and religions have in common. take the good stuff and rule out the bad. its just like picking up the good stuff in grocery dept an leaving the bad stuff behind.

hope u find what u are seeking. and its good u question, for it will help u strengthen ur faith and make u stronger, so that u will stand up for what u want.

may the peace and blessings of Allah be on u all and may He guide u all on the right path. peace be to all

Friend,

Here is what I think ( I still am a Christian, dispite struggles and doubts over the years)...

To stop being a Christian because you didn't have the heart to say or think that another person that isn't Christian would one day be damned to hell, is a valid concern to be sure. But I think it is a misunderstanding of scripture to think that our role is one of judgement. I believe with all my heart that my role as a Christian is to love others as I have been loved.

Jesus, whom you are willing to believe might have been holy, believed in a hell. If indeed he was holy, then he probably has more insight than you or I do about what comes after this life, right? There are many mysteries about what may lie beyond this life. That is open to so much interpretation and I am unable to bring any experiences to bear to help me so I leave it alone and remind myself that my the God I love and worship will take care of it all perfectly.

I do believe Jesus, the Christ, is the Word of God incarnate and has been together with Him since the beginning as the bible says. This makes the most since based on His uniqueness in all of the bible and the way the entire Old and New testament point to his divine nature, in addition to his human lifetime.

I am not one to take the bible literally but rather look at it as a whole and the overwhelmingly grand themes are those of the love of God, His sovereignty, and His desire to bring His children home to Himself. There are important moral codes that have stood the test of time and even many moral atheists live by these very same "laws" that are written on their hearts. These morals are intended as guides to help us know God's will for us and Jesus is the perfect example of those morals lived out. The holy spirit is our inner voice that keeps us on the path of living in harmony with God and beyond that....heaven...hell...I have no answer.

Frankly, I see heaven and hell as a condition of being either WITH God or separated from Him. This condition exists right here on earth. I know because I have been in both places. WITH Him is the only way I want to live... now and (if the afterlife I hope for is true) forever.

It seems that you are struggling with the concept of the triune God. It is one of the greatest mysteries of all. How can there be One God, yet in three persons? Maybe one day I will be able to wrap my mind around that, but for now I do accept it because, as I said, the overwhelming biblical evidence seems to point to Jesus' being one with the Father, and because the Holy Spirit, as comforter and guide is with me all the time...I don't always quiet myself to hear that voice but when I do, I have a deep sense that it is something outside of myself (not just my subconscience) and that it is altogether holy.

If you reject the concept of a triune God, are you going to hell? This Christian is not ready to judge you. God is a God of grace and mercy. God alone knows your heart and if you are an honest seeker of spiritual truth, God will reveal Himself to you in whatever way He chooses.

Thank you for your question. It is an honest one. I look forward to reading the thoughts of others on this. May God ( Jehovah, Yaweh, Allah...doesn't matter what name you use) grant His peace and blessings to you, and may He alone be glorified.

The bigger question is why would you care? You've abbandonned the answers Christianity offers why keep the guilt? If you honestly forsake Christianity you won't go to Hell as it is no longer part of your beliefs. There may be an afterlife and you might burn there but it won't be Hell reguardless. It sounds like you either need to step away from the bible-thumpers or start going back to Church every Sunday because you're not getting anything good in your life sitting on the fence.

Personally - I think your closer to the truth than most people think.

Tell ya what, keep believing in all the morals, loving and respecting God and that will make a better person of you than submitting to another's religion.

So, no, your not going to hell. You've got a good start on a good path. I don't think hell in in your furture.

no i dont think you will one day be in hell at least not for your beliefs..fundamentalist christians have probably done more to harm religion than any group i know.. as a christian, i do not believe you will go to hell because you are not " one of us" .. quite frankly, i dont believe that most ppl are even really suppose to know Gods plan right now.. and they dont..look at all the slants on our christianity by so many religions..God gave you free will young man, and He does not have a problem with you using it. it is good to question things.. my perspective would be that eventually.. everyone will know the "truth" about God and His Son--believe it or not- there are those ppl that even after finding out the truth will still reject God.. those ppl will probably end up in hell--and im not talking about some fiery abyss where they will be tortured.. im saying they will be destroyed and the very memory of them erased..thats why God made us mortal..so if we choose evil- we are not doomed like Satan to be that way forever..i do not believe Christ is God, I do believe He is a God ... i believe in two seperate entities.. God the Father (who is in charge) and Jesus-The Word, who has always been with the Father.. and who was made flesh and died for us so we can be reconciled with our Father..who loves us that much-- good luck in your quest for knowledge..but continue to ask questions.. and have FAITH that God will work it out

You've become a Muslim in essence bro.

Islam teaches what you have come to beleive. Islam preaches that Jesus (p) was one of the greatest Prophet's of God, an honorable man, a man who did miracles by God's will. But a man. Not God. Not son of God.

Did you know that Muslims beleive that his mother is the most honored woman in the history of mankind? There is a chapter titled "Mary" in the Qur'an, Chapter 19.

Jesus (p) is mentioned by name 25 times in the Qur'an. That's 5 times more than Muhammed (p) himself.

Don't take my word for it bro. Download an English translation of the Qur'an and see for yourself what it has to say about Jesus Christ (p).

Peace.

We are not to judge, Only God can read the hearts of man,

I don't honestly feel that only people who "Measure up to these regulations" will go to heaven, if so, what about babies? what about those who have never heard of Jesus? or the bible?

God is good, and god is wise, and he knows our hearts better than we do, in the end he will be the judge, ........

You believe in God, that is the biggest step, so if you believe in God, why not have faith in him, and ask him? Pray and ask him to guide you, and to teach you the truth,
