Luxenberg concludes from his reworking of the Quran that it is derived from a Syro-Aramaic lectionary, with hymns and Biblical extracts, created for use in Christian services. This lectionary was translated into Arabic as a missionary effort. It was not meant to start a new religion, but to spread an older one.

Well Muhammed didn't "write" the quran per say, I think it was the people that knew the Quran by heart that got scholars (these scholars were muslim) to write it down into one book, after the prophet's death, having to go through it numerous times to ensure that there were no mistakes made.
Never heard of the monk idea, and the prophet was a muslim whilst living, Christian came from people worshipping Christ, muslims only submit to Allah (hence Islam) this is why it was not called Muhammedism.
Research the word Islam to find out more.

The only people that could read and write were the wealthy, priest and monks. Before the printing press, the monks would make copies of sacred scripts. Sometimes they would take poetic license and add a few notes in the text and it became part of the text in the next generation of writing. Not only was the Qu'ran written by monks, but so was the Bible. It was not until the invention of the printing press that the text was more or less fixed.

From what Muslims say the qur'an was revealed to Muhammad. How could Muhammad have been a monk, when he had numerous wives (including a 9 year old girl) and concubines. Unless he belong to an order that allowed raping and killing of others -- monks have discipline therefore, I seriously doubt Muhammad was a monk or that a monk wrote the qur'an.

wow people are so good at creating false propagandas. this was the only thing left for the world to say.
let people follow their hearts and be what they want to be. we have no problem and we respect them for what they want to be. let them bad mouth and cuss at us as much as they want. i have only one answer for them or say a prayer for them.
may the peace and blessings of Allah be with them and may He guide them in the right path. May Allah show His mercy on them and protect them from the Hellfire. peace be to u all.

Well uh, the idea of a muslim came after mohammed, doesn't it? I mean, he was just a monk while he was alive, I guess. Rather like Jesus was basically just a jew while he was alive, not really a "christian."
