I know of no studies that have proven the efficacy of gel or paste being preferential to one or the other. It is purely a matter of personal preference. Now, that being said, it is true there are some pastes (and gels for that matter) that have a little more abrasiveness to them. This does wear very minutely on the enamel of the teeth and in many people causes sensitivity and in a very few even worse. Different brands and types differ. I would recommend staying away from the abrasive types, use one that has the ADA seal, a good tartar control is helpful for most people, use a soft or extra soft brush, floss, and then go have your teeth whitened by your dentist. Absolutely no wearing on your enamel with in office whitening. Best wishes.

Paste is safer and good for teeth. It protects the teeth longer than the gel.

Use a good quality paste approved by dental association of your country - Golgate Total - for example

Best wishes

I think when you are young, gel is better....but when you get older, and have stains...paste is better because of the abrasive aspect...try to drink liquids light in colour...they stain less than drinks like coffee and coke.
