Go to the council offices there. There is a section that will provide duplicates. You need proof of your identity as the mother.

It's public information. Anyone can get a copy of anybody's birth certificate. Just got to the council office where he was born with the details. You don't need to be a relative to do that.

From your town hall, or local council offices.
Good luck though!!
I had to queue for 2 hours to get a copy of mine!!
You need to fill in a dozen forms, hand them to the penguin on reception then just hang around waiting till they decide they've got nothing else to do!

Try the GRO website, but if you can get the Index numbers it's cheaper. I paid £7 by having the Index Ref for my birth. Try www.1837online.com to find the Index Refs.

Go to the registry office, they give you a form to fill in and they will process it for you, but you do have to pay a small fee. If he is over 16 he can do it himself.

You can order them online, but it is much cheaper to go to the place you registered his birth...I think it costs something like £26 online and just under £10 if you go to the office yourself.
