I was just sent today by the Social Security Office to have a mental exam today. After a bunch of stupid questions, He said "You're bright, but uneducated" That kind of baffles me as I have my G.E.D. and my I.Q. is 120 (took an I.Q. test a few weeks ago.) My feeling is he's trying to fit me with the profile of a Sociopath. He wants me to seek psychotherapy. What does it mean to be bright, but uneducated, when I have an I.Q. OF 120? Was he just profiling me? I dont understand.

Well the reason I think he thinks I'm a sociopath is that I failed those questions.(What would you do if you found an addressed envelope that contained money) I said I'd keep it. (Do you care for law enforcement) no. (do you like Texas Chainsaw Massacre?) yes. Am I a sociopath?

he was just trying to figure out how mental you are. sometimes these people forget that everyone has mental issues, it just depends on how we handle the issues.
I work in the mental health profession and believe me there are people that you would never guess that are mental and some of the case managers, doctors and counselors have more mental issues than the clients

You do not have any understanding whatsoever of a sociopathic personality disorder. Having a G.E.D. is a below average educational accomplishment. He's complimenting you by saying you are bright, but a G.E.D. is considered to be formally undereducated. You better go to therapy if you want to qualify for Social Security- otherwise you can be 'right', and without the support of social security. Psychotherapy is not a bad thing, it can be fun.

It does sound you are smart but many smart people are lacking on what is called the intellect. The good news is you can overcome it yourself by reading a lot and taking classes. It desnt sound at all like they are making you into a Sociopath. Please look up in the library the meaning of sociopath, its someone who acts without a conscience, a personality disorder that can affect educated and uneducated people. But if you continue to feel like there is a conspiracy against you, perhaps what they are trying to say is that you are paranoid? (maybe you got the words confused? It happens)

It means that you could have gone to college and made something out of yourself instead of standing in line at unemployment. He thinks that you screwed yourself by dropping out of high school and just getting a GED. He's probably right if you have a 120 I.Q.. Go back to school and get a degree and make a future for yourself.

Labels are just that, something someone else places on you to make you feel like you fit in the box that society has created. I would seek out the psychotherapist that is being recommended and see what s/he has to say.

Oh, I completely get it. However, very often in life you need to act. You probably new the answers he expected, so you should have said them. People are very superficial in those tests, so you should give them what they want, and get it over with.
