There's a product called KMS Flat Out Hair Prepare that I used to use. Maybe try that. They have a shampoo and conditioner that go along with it. Also, use the newer kind of flat iron with the ceramic coating. It's safer on hair than the old metal kind.

Use leave in conditioner Infussion. It will give the same use without the stiffness of mousse. Mouse dries the hair faster than conditioners do. Sure any heat damages the hair, but if you keep it trimmed once a month you won't have dead ends.

use l'oreal paris. it's a bit pricey but very good and effective. i'm not sure of the name but just look for the 'for straighter hair' one.
also, use the ionic flat irons instead of the ordinary ones.
using mousse will help keep your hair in place but if you'd notice, after a while, the mousse turns your hair into a hard and greasy.... thing! i'd advice you use citre shine shine mist spray laminator
instant shine for silky, smooth hair that also has anti-frizz treatment.
it will protect your hair from heat damages and just apply it to your hair proir to heat styling.

i hope i helped you! good luck!

in fact, you have curly hair which is beautiful. be the way you are and you look the way you are. dont try to straighten your hair, as you have curly hair in nature, you may be looking very attractive. just take good care of your hair, instead of shampoo, try to use henna adding lemondrops, beetroot and curd, this is a good hairconditioner, your hair will glow. do not waste your money on unnecessary chemical products which will certainly damage your hair.

No. You don't need to put anything on before you straighten your hair. If you want to be on the safe side, go to your hair salon. They have a special chemical to straighten your hair and keep it that way! I just had my hair straightened on Sunday.
