Of course!
What is sacrifice? As it was always done, animals were slaughtered and people were eating them! We continue doing that! Others are praying and thanking god for the food, others thank their luck, others just eat! And this is true in all times!
As 5,000 years ago, the sacrifice was done in a specific way, the same now! Similarly, then and now, the dangerous parts were returning to nature, without eating them, while the rest was cut in pieces and were distributed to participating individuals!
And this is true either at homes (then and now) and public (then and now)! Nothing have changed, but the names!

I have lived in NY, MN and IL and I can tell you, animal secrifice under a religion's doctrine is allowed in all 3 of these states.
We Muslims have a holiday called Eid-ul-Azha where we follow the tradition of prophet Abraham and secrifice the animals to God once every Lunar every.

Yes it is Legal with quite a few provisions(the animal may not be mistreated and must not "suffer" when killed).
Many like to believe it isn't legal, the First Amendment says otherwise.
