It is a supply and demand situation. If you stop breastfeeding you will stop producing.

So you dont intend to breastfeed. Breastfeed are the best formula for baby. Anyway its your decision to make. If you wanna stop the milk flow, just use a cold cabbage and place it on each of your breast then wear your bra. Its sounds funny but it really works. Dont forget to change the cabbage. Within 3 to 5days the milk flow will stop. Cheers'

By "naturally", I believe you to mean without shots or pills. That being the case, here you go. Wear a very snug bra, even to bed. You can use camphor oil on your breasts to help with the pain and to dry you up a little faster. You used to be able to buy camphor oil, but if you can't find it, it is the smelly ingredient found in mentholated chest rubs. You can use Vick's or any generic brand for this. You may smell like you have a cold, but you will feel much better.

I have heard the cabbage leave thing, but nnot until pregnant with my daughter (now 9 mos). I breastfed my son until he was almost 2 years and he is now 8 years and my milk finally dried up completely just under a year before I got pregnant with my daughter. My doctor had me on 600 mg of E a day to dry them up after about the 2nd year after I quit breastfeeding.
I would definitely try the cabbage leaves as I have heard about them and several people here have apparently had success with that method.

Try weaning off slowly.I did this with my son.Its basically a supply and demand. The more you breastfeed the more milk you produce. The less you feed the less you make.Just becareful you dont get engorged.Try hot showers or massaging them or putting a warm wash cloth over them to relieve some of the pain from engorgement. You will know they are engorged because they feel really full and painful to the touch. If you start feeling sick or they feel as they are on fire or you run a fever go to the dr immediatley.

It will gradually stop naturally, the less you feed the less milk will be produced. It is normal to have a little leakage well after you have stopped breastfeeding. If you still have leakage after 1 year then you should go to the Dr to make sure that it is still only milk. I know it is a pain but don't worry too much it will stop eventually. It is all to do with hormones, and we all know what happens to your hormones when you have a baby, don't we?!

stop breastfeeding or slowly reduce the amount of times you feed and your breats will stop porducing the milk as it works on a supply and demand routine. when i stopped i would express a few times a day and slowly decrease the amount and within a few days the milk had dryed up. i thought this worked well because it also got my baby used to drinking out of a bottle rather than clinging to the idea of getting milk out of the breast.
you may feel heavy at first but i found warm flannels rested on my breats helped relieve that or a warm bath

Earth Mama Angel Baby makes a tea for that. It contains organic herbs that have "traditionally been taken by women to help slow or stop the production of breast milk - naturally".

This is gross but the doctor told me to put cabage leafs into my snug bra. Yes its does stink but it dries up the milk faster.I am not sure why.I did not nurse at all and was in a lot of pain and this helped ease the pain and make it go away quicker.Dont forget to change it ioften if you do this. Good luck!

Don't automatically quit breast feeding, all you will do is cause yourself pain. Slow down, go from 10 feedings a day to 8, then drop more the next day, replace everything with a bottle. This way it won't hurt you and your body with get the point. That is how I did it.

U just gotta leave it to come out try having a bath and massaging the breasts so that it relieves any discomfort. Eventually the milk will dry out but u gotta be careful not to get a blockage(mastitus). It will go eventually as long as u dont express
