From what source or impact study do you base your findings? If you are talking about the Roman Catholic Priesthood, it would seem pervacive wouldn't it considering all the media attention but the truth is...there are far worse attrocities going on in the secular world than in the true Church of God. It cannot exist there or else it is not the church (ekklesia for Christ). Still, I'm curious as to what would cause you to make such a broad sweeping generalization say any particular social issue is prevailant in the Church. Did someone mistreat you who perhaps painted themselves with label Christian? Someone mistreated me but I assign that soley to the person who did it and not the the Christian Church as a whole entity. I pray for your healing. I've recieved mine and it was due to some very warm, trustworthy, caring people who called themselves Christians...and THEN...behaved like it as well. Love in Christ, ~J~

I don't agree with that of course! So far it seems to be in the Catholic church's mainly! Grouping everyone in the same pot is ignorance! Secondly, No mater the group, All are only human, both in good things and bad! No one is perfect! You have Pedophilia all over, you may well have it in your family. Just because you don't know it, don't mean it is not there. I've seen it all over. My siblings and I were placed in foster homes, it was there heavy duty. There if you spoke up you were classed a trouble maker and liar. And this is something that has haunted me trough out my life! I was in Cleremont County foster care system in OHIO! It's all over kiddo and has been for years. Those who hate religion or want to like to pick up on it!

You might think these things are common, but it is only Television that can make you see it like this.

What is the worst thing that can happen to a dramatic character in the role of a priest, or a minister? He can have pedophiliac urges, or a gay son or daughter. These situations rake in huge drama kudos, but don't actually happen very often. Pedophilia is a closeted behavior and almost never happens IN church, and homosexuals genuinely try to avoid church because of its draconic policies toward such individuals.

the thing is that the cases that come from the churches around the world (of pedophilia, harassment, etc by priests) are given a lot of immediate SPARK n PUBLICITY.
i do agree wid u tht it prevails, but wid those ppl who take up the posts in holy orders with misinterpreted ideas. such ppl truly get diverted and indulge due to sexual lacking
but on the contrary and sadly, all the good and exemplary service done by the church is least given importance n limelight. in such a way ppl get wrong notions abt the church
for eg, the sisters of charity (the order of Mother Teresa) do a lot of real service in the DEVELOPING countries, sheltering poor, orphans, mentally n physically sick, old ppl who are abandoned by their children, etc etc.
and this is never given importance
so ppl remain ignorant abt the real stuff the church is committed to

I feel it is just as large of a percentage everywhere, maybe more out in certain religions than others but they are all there. You may see more out gays due to the relaxed(compared to religions such as muslim) and pedophiles I feel they are everywhere.

The Christain churches are full of hippocrits depending on who you are (what you choose to see). The smaller towns see it more and larger is the opposite. It just depends on location and I don't know that if you actually did studies that the percentages would be that different.

Very often wolves hide in sheeps clothing. People in churches are more trusting of one another than in the general population and pedophiles thrive on this fact. As far as homosexuals go..they are looking for religion just like heterosexuals are.

Gees, I hope not! But you never know what might happen when no one is around. That is why I never trusted my children with anyone. I did let them stay a few times with relatives, yet you aren't really safe with them either. I say don't let children stay anywhere without supervision until they are at least 10 and you have good communication and they know the proper touch and improper touch.

Because they have abolished God's holy word of Torah, and so commit horrible acts like those. They don't understand what Paul meant when he said "not under law" - in that he was refering to the law of the Pharisees, not to God's holy Torah. And so, they don't know what is right or wrong and end up picking the wrong thing to do.

I will not say it is common in all churches. But I would say there are Good and bad people every where.

Don't you think It is common in all departments of life.

Muslim people themselves say that Maulanas in madrassas do it with the children. Its very common. and there are so many jokes associated with it.

I will still say there are good and bad people every where. there are good and example able maulanas too.
