Diet: Plenty of water with fruits and veggies. Eat only grilled chicken. No fried food or red meat. Only a little bit of sweets and other good stuff.

Exercise: Wake up at 7 AM and go to the gym for an hour. Then eat breakfast.(Is it a good idea to eat breakfast before or after a workout? Is it best to work out in the morning or the evening?)

In the evening, walk two miles. I want to lose about 10-15 pounds in 2-3 months. Does all of this sound good? I already drink plenty of water and never drink soda or alcohol. I don't smoke. All I need is to just eat right and exercise a lot, right? Will this plan help me achieve my goal?

Sounds like a good plan, and you have an achievable goal. You should probably eat after you workout in the mornings, because exercising on a full stomach can give you stomach cramps.

Looks good to me. Exercise before breakfast actually helps you burn fat so there's nothing wrong with that. If you eat first it would be a bad idea to exercise right after anyway. Just make sure you drink lots of water the night before/during exercise. Maybe you should try jogging instead of walking. There's nothing wrong with walking but jogging is better for your heart, time it and don't slow down instead of walking 2 miles maybe jog for 30 minutes. You're planning to do 2 workouts everyday? That seems a little much but listen to your body. Remember the body needs rest. What's your plan for the morning workout? If its pretty intense I'd skip the walking/jogging. 2-3 months is plenty of time to get that amount of weight lost.

you need to do 200 minutes of cardio a week. Remember fat does not turn into muscle, so you need to lose your fat while putting on muscle. The 45 minute thing is not true, but don't over 60 minutes at a time.

Do 5-10 minutes of cardio to warm up, then do your weight training. Do 30 to 60 minutes more of cardio, then go home.

The best time to eat is just after your workout within an hour when your metabolism is raging. For your muscles, incorporate some isolated soy protein or whey protein. Whey is more potent but the soy tastes better!

Don't look at your scale as the be all and end all, but get a measuring tape to check your progress, and that will show more tangible results.

Good luck and stick at it.

I always found easier to eat breakfast after training but you could drink a glass of juice before. Don't skip breakfast though!

The best time to workout is when you're generally in the mood for it. If you like to train before breakfast and have a walk during the evening then great! Your plan sounds great, key is to stick to it!

about 2 weeks ago, i started a diet too! i'm on a weight watchers diet and i have to drink 1.5-2L every day, eat 2 portions of calcium, 5 portions of fruits and vegetables and i can do exercise if i want but i don't do it a lot. i've already lost 10 pounds! i swear! it's amazing! all you have to do is calculate the number of points you can eat each day (every thing you eat is worth points. ex: 50g of bread, 1 teaspoon low fat butter and 1dL of juice is worth 3,5 points) .... i'm allowed to take 20 points every day. it depends on your age, weight and height. you can also save points for the week end if you know you're going to eat at a restaurant for example. to help me keep track of the points i eat every day and my progress, i have a journal in which i write every single thing i eat and my weight every week on a chart. you also need this little booklet with a list of all the foods and what their worth in points. i think you can order all of this on weightwatchers.com. i go to the WW meetings where once every week, i learn all about how i can lose even more wieght, what you shouldn't do, all the answers to my questions and that's where i bought everything i needed for my diet... hope this helped you! good luck!
