No, pasta itself is not "fattening". It is water and flour. However, if you eat carbohydrates and then don't burn them off right away, they turn into sugar in the body and get stored as fat. Just don't binge on pasta and try to eat the whole grain stuff. There is no reason to swear it off if you like it.

Pasta isnt fattening in a calorie controlled diet and lower than potatoes or rice. Each food has different nutrition and pasta has carbohydrates for energy.

I love all pasta especially Lasagne

If wholemeal & it must B wholemeal pasta is 1 of the few carbohydrates U eat, it's far healthier than white bread/pasta.
Like all things, the key is moderation.
I eat pasta only once a week guess I could recommend the same.
But like I say it must B wholemeal.

Pasta is very good for you in the right portion. It is used especially as a energy supplement. Back when I used to play high school football we were told to eat pasta before the games.

Yeah, ain't it great? I love multi-grain pasta, served with lime juice, olive oil, and red salmon. I'm 5'11" and weigh 150 pounds, so I can attest that pasta, in moderation, is not fattening, but helps you live an active life.

Inherently it is not fattening. Carbohydrates are used as energy by your body. Though, when you do not use as many calories as you take in, it turns into fat.

So if you watch your portions, exercise accordingly and don't put a ton of unhealthy stuff on top of it, it won't make you fatter.

Whole wheat pasta is healthy and has the good carbs we need.

Regular pasta is refined and refined foods should be avoided.

it is carbohydrate, and most people put some fattening sauce on it too, so yes, it can be. But I like it, and even make my own at home
