no fad diet needed, just eat plenty of fruit and veg, no fatty stuff and get some regular exercises into you.

South Beach Diet, but as well, try this:

you need to do 200 minutes of cardio a week. Remember fat does not turn into muscle, so you need to lose your fat while putting on muscle. The 45 minute thing is not true, but don't over 60 minutes at a time.

Do 5-10 minutes of cardio to warm up, then do your weight training. Do 30 to 60 minutes more of cardio, then go home.

The best time to eat is just after your workout within an hour when your metabolism is raging. For your muscles, incorporate some isolated soy protein or whey protein. Whey is more potent but the soy tastes better!

Don't look at your scale as the be all and end all, but get a measuring tape to check your progress, and that will show more tangible results.

Good luck and stick at it.

That is a very long timescale to lose weight over. You are suggesting about 1.4 kg per month weight loss.

You could easily lose 8kg in 8-10 weeks without a very restrictive diet. Just exercise more, and eat the same as you always eat (if it is healthy), or adjust it to be more healthy.

The key is to burn more calories than you put in. Bear in mind that Scott and Amundsen's men lost about 4kg a week on their trek to the South pole! Cold weather and excercise requires extra fuel in the body to maintain your weight, and so skiing is a great excercise if you like eating.

That's a sensible goal. Don't try to loose too much too quickly.

Snack on fruit instead of biscuits, crisps or chocolate. Have boiled or jacket potatoes instead of chips. Eat plenty of fresh fruit and vegetables and cut down on fatty and sugary stuff in general. Take a little exercise. Swim, cycle or walk for an hour a few times a week. If you take a lift get out a floor or two below your stop and walk up the stairs.

That should help.

I'm off to the canteen now for bacon and eggs!

Unfortuantely it's moderation and plenty of exercise.

Fab diets will tend to do you more harm than good; depriving you of essential nutirents and vitamins. Take the Atkins diet for example.

If I were you; get your bicycle out, go on a few walking weekends, walk a bit at night, take up swimming, cut out the snacks and fast food, have a health light breakfast and eat early in the evening rather than late (Before 7pm).

You could kick this off (Assuming that you've got the time/annual leave to do so), by going on a walking weekend - nothing too hard, but something to get your body used to it.

go to slimming world its the best thing i ever did I've lost a stone 14lb or 6.5 kg in 8 weeks and i know i can keep going because the diet is so good.

it takes a couple of weeks to learn all about it as i can seem difficult at 1st but the results are soooo worth it and once you get your head around it, it's so simple.

some women at my local club have lost up to 8 stones, it's fab go to the site and see if there is a club near you. it's only 4.25 a week and all the support you'll need.

go for it, you won't regret it

seriously dont listen to what everyone is saying about 'lose fast gain fast'! its stupid, dont let them hold you back!

First, as some have mentioned the cabbage soup diet is good, if u want a diet routine. its very effective if done properly.

second, you can make your own diet, dont eat fats, eat many fruits, vegitables, chicken for protien, vitamins, eggs, milk, fish instead of meat! try eating all the very healthy things with no fats, and make sure ur diet is balaced.

1. eggs and milk essential for calcium
2. fish, and chicken for protiens.
3. lots of water.

Also, drink orange juice, it contains acid that will burn fats. BUT dont over do it, and bare in mind that this acid in these drinks such as orange and lemon may damage teeth.

But, when you get up in the morning you can drink a black cup of tea with no sugar, this will help reducing the weight!

Whatever you end up folowing make sure you supply your body with enough proteins and vitamins! or your immune system will be affected and u'l become ill and suffer leukaemia!

Finaly excercis is essential to keep your body in a good shape, when you have time. swimming tones the body muscles if u enjoy it!

i hope that helps :)

It depends on your initial weight. If it's already average to below average, then you may have difficulty losing at that rate (1.3kg per month) and it might also be quite dangerous to your health.

Choice of diet also depends strongly on individual circumstances. A good GP will refer you to a professional dietician (free in the UK on the NHS) who can advise you on the best method for you. You should get advice from a dietician who has examined you professionally in person. No-one on Yahoo Answers can do that...

What really helps is to cut down drastically on junk food, dairy and wheat products, and to eat as much fruit and vetegables (especially raw) as you want, and restricted amounts of lean meat, fish, poultry and nuts. Drink lots of water and you will start seeing a difference almost immediately. Best of luck with it - I've done this and I'm experiencing a real de-tox of the system, as well as bits of me trimming up, and my skin looking and feeling much better.
