I have been homeschooling my son for the last several years but now he wants to go to public school. We tried this two years ago and one day I went to pick him up early and the school officials couldn't find him. It turned out that he was at lunch, but thirty minutes of searching for him gave me a severe panick attack. I'm looking for something like a wristwatch that really looks like a wristwatch and not something for a small child. A keychain or something that can be sewn inside a shoe would also be nice. It can't be a cell phone because they aren't allowed at this school. I'd like something that comes with a monitor that will tell me his exact location even when he's inside the school building and I'm in the parking lot. It would also be nice if I could see where he is when I'm at home and he's at school. Any ideas will be appreciated.

;I'm a teacher & I can assure you that a tracking device is excessive. You want your child to be comfortable & fit in; not teathered with a tracking device as if he were an expensive breed of dog or automobile.

You really need to check in with your doctor & see if you have anxiety disorder. I'm not saying this is a flippant way, I have anxiety disorder myself, so I can see the signs.

Also, it may help you to be mindful of how much tv & radio news you listen to daily. Yes, we do live in troubled times, but so much of what we hear in the news is sensationalized & skewed. If a news story "bleeds it leads", meaning the death, destruction & despair stories are gold for the headlines.

Thousands & thousands of good, healthy things happen each day in our schools & neighborhoods. That really needs to be your focus. You don't want to transfer your anxiety to your child. It can cause him to have difficulties learning & adjusting to public schools.

Lady, maybe it's time to cut those apron strings. First of all I remember homeschool children coming to public school or college and they were weird and creepy. Second your son is going to go up a co-dependent momma's boy if you treat him like that. He'll live. I am really just scared for this child right now. And scared that someone like you is raising a child.

Some cell phone companies now offer cell phones for children that also track where the child is. Verizon offers one called the Wirefly, and Disney Mobile has one as well.

I just saw an ad the other day on tv about Disney Mobile that has a built-in tracking device. Perhaps this would help? He can keep it on silent and not use it in class, but you can still see on your end where he is.

You should not put any tracking device to your chils.. let him be free sometimes.. The things that will happen to them without any supervisions of their parents will help them grow.. let him do what he wants sometimes fro him to learn and be a better person..

One of those subdermals from those spy movies. (Not really)

Maybe you're not ready for your son to go to public school.
