Truth – You may be less likely to get pregnant during your period, but having sex during your period does not prevent pregnancy from happening a few days later. Only 30% of women ovulate between the 10th and 17th days of their cycles, the other 70% ovulate before or after those days, including during their periods.

Q:How long do sperm live after ejaculation?
A:
Sperm ejaculated into a woman's vagina remain alive in the mucus of the cervix and are able to fertilize an egg for three to five days. Sperm ejaculated outside the body usually live only a few hours.

If you have a consistent 28-day cycle, ovulation is likely to begin about 14 days after the day your last period began

I never had sex during having a period, that is just gross. You are not supposed to be fertile 5 days after your period, and used that way for a long time. The closer you get to the time you ovulate, then you are more apt to get pregnant. I think I heard 5 days before and 5 days after, but not everyone ovulates the same, so watch out. It might be if you do not have a very heavy period, and waiting for the end of the period, you could, and probably would still be safe. Just not on the first, or second days, not nice.
You have the cramps too, so I would not be in the mood at all. Had the partial hysterectomy in my 30's, so I didn't have to worry getting pregnant after that. After 3 babies, I was done. P.S. the method I used did work. Usually the closer to the 15 day is when most ovulate and is not a good time to have sex if you are not using protection, which is suicide is not married anyway. P.S. After reading the rest, I never knew you could get pregnant when you were having a period. I learned something here.

No, because it isn't. Being on your period does not mean you will not get pregnant. Use a condom. Which in case you haven't seen Friends the t.v. show lately, condoms are only 97-98 percent effective. That means that out of a hundred times you use them they could fail 2-3 times........something to think about.

some absolutely everyone is growing pregnant from having sex on their sessions... no longer a sturdy theory for birth control. each lady ovulates at diverse situations and sperm can stay as a lot as 3 days.
