As a firefighter, Ive personally witnessed this...Red cross will pay for a hotel room for a few nights, they will not give you money to rebuild or replace stuff...This sickened me and i have never heard of a place you can get grants for your structure...You may have to refinance....I have seen a lot of people put out of there homes because of no insurance....

The Red Cross helps with food and hotel stays. Also you could go to the Department of Social Services in your state and apply for a General Relief grant.

This is not easy and will be painfully humbling, but talk to your local churchs. Helping others is what they live for. You may not get any financial help, but they may be able to replace a lot of other things for now. On second thought they may be able to organize a benefit in your names to help financially. Never hurts to ask. And a little spiritual support right now couldn't hurt either. Good Luck!
