To me, it sounds a bit like a fairy tale...We "brain storm" our children to believe in after life etc. Personally, I think once your life is over, its over. Things like the tooth fairy , santa Clause and "happily ever after life" does not exist. How can people believe in something there is no proof off?

I don’t understand how you have so much difficulty to understand this simple thing ....

You are alive now.. So how can you say that probability that you where alive in the Past is Zero ? And that you will be alive again in the future is Zero ?
Its common senses.. Just as you have got life now, why can’t you get life again ? Even from simple calculation you can see that

I don’t know about Santa or Tooth Fairy ... But this is Science..
What is the Cause of Life? ... When some one dies you say "Oh he is gone away" ..What is Gone away ? The body is still lying there ... What when lost from the body, the Body is called Dead?
- That is called as Soul or the life Principle.. This Soul is Sprit different from Matter.. And Sprit does not destroy.. This is clearly explained in Bhagavad Gita..

First find out what is that living principle and then give "your Thinking".. You cannot simply say it’s a "Bunch of Chemicals" ...
I will give you all chemicals, will you be able to make a dead person live again ?? Then on what account you say it’s a "Bunch of Chemicals" ?
Do you have proof that this Living Thing that sustains Body is dead with the destruction of the Body ??
Don’t have Blind Faith on what Scientist say.. For me a Crocodile becoming a Bird by developing wings and Flying is a fairy tale ...
And a Big Blast leading to Perfect alignment of Planets in Orbit, is even a bigger Fairy tale ...
Any way most of the science is still based on Hypothesis and they revise it every time some one thinks Differently, and has Backing of his Community ...

My Challenge is if you are really a Scientist then prove clearly what this living principle is .. But if you don’t know or Can’t find out then say so…Don’t give your imagination as Science…. We servants of God take our instructions and Knowledge from God himself, and he does not tell us with “May Be” ..

Strangely, I do believe in an afterlife of sorts. There is a lot of proof (though proof may be too strong a word) that points in that direction. I do not "believe" in an afterlife per se..not the way most people think of it. But we are made up of energy, and energy has to go somewhere. Is that energy our consciousness? I don't know. Maybe the energy just changes and evolves much like dung becomes fertilizer and becomes food for our food. Or maybe that energy is our consciousness and we move on in this form to some other dimension. I don't know, because as far as I know, I haven't died yet.

Maybe there is nothing when we die. Maybe there is. I am not convinced either way yet.

THERE ARE PROOFS for people who would like to see, If some one was created this world He is surely able to create another world after this life. If someone promise and insist on that He will do something and He is able to do it Why does not He fullfil His promise? If all humans feel hungary after some time it is a proof that there is something like meal outside, if all people feels and needs and wish in the core of their heart for an eternel life, it means that there is a hereafter after this life.If weak human do not be happy without justice and try to apply justice in this world, Someone having the most powerful sense of justice and who is not weak one is able to give reward and punsihment in a court that is appropriate for His omnipotence in another life. We can tell nearly thousands of proofs for hereafter. So THERE ARE PROOFS just we should think about them...All the best :)

What's the point of living if death ends it all and nothing follows? What's the point of sacrificing a lot in the name of love and compassion if it's going to meet the same fate as those from evil doer? Why are we given a life so good only to be taken away unceremoniously? Why behave well in secret if we can let go all our evil desire, anyway just because we only have one life. Why live if only to die slowly harboring that fear, anger and secretly wish you have not lived. Life is purposeless if its gonna end someday. Why live if there's no continuity after death. Does not make sense why life is around in the first place.

Other than many actual experiences of people dying momentarily and having similar visions, there is no real proof. It is something we except on faith. If there is no after life, I will never hear you say, "I told you so", but if there is an afterlife as I and billions of others believe, aren't you going to be in a little trouble?

Its not a fairy tale. God just didn't create us for fooling around. Remember, Jesus' words to the thief on the Cross,' today thou shalt be with me in paradise' The Bible promises eternal life. The Bible is infallible. The promises of God are true and trustworthy. They are worth believing. Your soul shall live forever, either in heaven or hell. Choose where you want to spend your eternity!!!!

People believe in after lives because it makes them feel better about death, which scares the crap out of most people. I don't believe that after we die we get to hang out on clouds and eat bagels and cream cheese all day, but on the other hand I find it hard to believe that it just ends 100%. It's not that thats not possible, but it's hard to imagine my brain or my senses not taking SOMETHING in... strange. Good Question.

no body knows the answer to this. not even god himself. god to me is just an it, something that is nothing yet it doesnt even know it exists but does things for unconscious reasons. im sure to most of you this doesnt make any sense whatsoever.

anyway my answer is. there is life after death. simply... life. its a cycle. if you look at the objects around you, do you think it stays that way forever. everything dies and comes back somehow in some form. i know it supposedly named as 'reincarnation' but i dont want to put it as that. just simply thing stay new, but things get old. we are young, we get old. i see things this way. everyday, it is someones bday and someones death. when someone dies, someone is born. so i had this thought one day where people go through chains of tunnelts where after your life is gone you go through a passage of emptyness and become something else. the conscious memory you had goes to the new persons subconscious. anyway thats it for me.

I believe you still exist, I don't know if its life. Nothing can be created nor destroyed. Where does all your energy go when your gone? A question that will never answered until the end of time.

Yes i do believe!
And there is scientific proof too!
Many people have encountered near death experiences, like pam reynolds was "dead" for an hour during an artery operation..Her brain function would cease and so does her heart. But her sub consious mind was alive and she saw doctors operating on her and then she went into a dark tunnel where she was pulled out by her dead grandfather and other dead relatives she thought she would never see again.
.http://www.mortalminds.org/reynolds.html read this for more!
So i conclude that When we die our consious mind dies but our sub consious mind remains. forever.
