I live about sixty miles away from Stirling. Why do you want to go there, particularly? Life there is nothing remarkable really. It's quite a mixed town, some parts are very well off, some parts are definitely not. It has the castle right in the middle and quite a pleasant town centre which has escaped much of the damage usually inflicted by town planners. The area has grown a lot in recent years since it's handy for commuting to both Glasgow and Edinburgh and it has the university, of course. the weather is like the rest of Scotland: when it's good, it's very, very good but when it's bad, it's horrid.

I'm not from Stirling but I've been there often.
The scenery's gorgeous. It's just next to the Trossacs, which is one of Scotland's most beautiful areas. There's the castle and Wallace Monument, which are both worth a visit. The people are friendly (of course, they're Scottish) and there's a brilliant Art culture there too
The weather's crap, but you can't have everything!
