If they are white stains and you can see where the bracket was attached (and it looks normal) then you have decalcification. This happens when you don't brush the plaque and food build-up from around your bands and brackets when the braces are on.
Decalcification is the beginning of a cavity. There is nothing you can do to correct it and if you don't care for those teeth properly the condition will worsen.

I asked my dental hygienist the same question. I was told the teeth whitening solution you can buy over the counter works just as well and any bleaching they use. But..... I was given something years ago called opal essence. You could ask your dentist if it is still available.

I have braces stains, went to the dentist, did bleaching, but only lighten the shadows, will not go away completely.
